Tuning Umarex Gauntlet Problems .22

I can offer nothing to solve the issues, but being the owner of this gun, I can tell you that I've had so many problems/issues with mine.... that I rarely every look at it. That's after installing several mods, most from Hajimoto, and still not "fixing" the problems. I've moved on to other guns, and nearly all of them have proven better than the Gauntlet 2.
Yes I did too, as well as playing with guns of different powerplants.

What is your Gauntlet2 symptoms?

My Gauntlet2 has never had trouble firing, it had trouble hitting what you fired at. 😁
I sent it back for warranty and they shot test group of about 3/4" at 20 meters, and said that was what was expected from this gun. It wasn't what I was expecting. I didn't know when I bought it that my old 72 Sheridan Bluestreak, was conciderably more accurate then this beast.
I bought the gun watching Hajimoto's videos expecting his kind of accuracy. As it turned out Hajimoto responded to my thread and educated me on the rifles issue, along with a picture.

If you have a hard closing bolt, the pelets are being damaged in the chamber, by the sharp edge of the rifling, because there's no transition chamfer. Then lead chips from the damaged pellets foul the rifling ruining accuracy.

This is a common issue with some of these that Umerex decided not to warranty and let us live with.
The Gauntlet 2 is my first PCP, I decided to purchase a less expensive one to start with the knowledge that I would be learning/working on it. I am having the same issue with loading pellets being difficult and poor consistency on target. I will give this a try and hopefully solve this. I am very grateful for all the great information everyone shares on this site.

So maybe we can help. What's the issue or issues your having with your Gauntlet gen 2? Please explain in as much detail as possible as well as including information of the mods you've already done.

Yes, I started the Beeman Chief which was a failure followed by the G2 another failure. A tough way to start the PCP trip. Pardon the pun. 😁
As I said I was able to come to an agreement with the G2, as after a thorough cleaning it showed some real accuracy, until it fouls again.
I am thinking I'll send the barrel to Hajimoto for the fix, and order the parts to reinstall it. 👍

While I appreciate all the help offers for the Gauntlet 2, it'd just be beating a dead horse. My main qualm with it was accuracy, I also disliked the weight and odd balance, and likely its worst trait was jammed pellets at least 2 times out of every magazine shot.

After all the time spent and money wasted on the gun, it's just a real sore spot with me, and I've left it in the past.

I put it in a case, and placed it in a basement room we call "The Dungeon". One of these days when I'm gone, it'll be somebody else's problem. ;)

Since, I've moved on, and although I've "tinkered" with all the airguns I own.... I've come back to the "K.I.S.S." principle, and have learned..."The more I overtake the plumbing...the easier it is to stop up the drain".
What that means for me is a change in mindset. If any airgun is not "accurate" to the level I expect, or cannot be made so with "out of the box" adjustments, it's time to save my pennies toward a new/different gun. I suppose that is one thing/bright spot in my saga with the Gauntlet 2... lessons learned. :)

I wish Umerex would have straightened this problem out under a warentee recall, but apparently bad reputations don't hurt business these days. I sent them mine and they said that it was fine.
