I love the Umarex SMGs MP40, M1A1 Thompson and the M3a1 Grease gun. this post is about my Umarex M3a1 Grease gun. I purchased the M3 in November of 2022 and also purchased a number of magazines.

A few months ago (last Summer) I noticed when I was loading the guns that one of the mags for the M3 was leaking gas and also that something was moving inside the Mag when I shook it; kind of a thunk thunk thunk. None of my other mags did that. Obviously, the clip was leaking and the warranty had expired long expired. So, I bought another one.
It sat around for a while and I started to wonder about taking it ( the Magazine) apart or maybe even thinking as long as I was going to take it apart maybe thinking about... perhaps fixing it?
So, I decided to do that e.g.- take it apart and maybe fixing it. If I fail... well it is a "Wall hanger for display"; ok let's do that.
So, I took it apart (not that hard) I do have the drawings (from this Forum and Thank YOU members) (Part 1) video so I am presenting here (also on YouTube). The video is only the first part (1) because a trip the hardware store for more metric tools is required; have to find time to do that.

So below is the Video "Umarex M3a1 Grease Gun Disassembly of the Magazine Part 1” Let me know what you think?

M3a1 Umarex M3 Grease gun Magazine that was leaking CO2 gas (a lot of gas) and way out of Warranty.

Well I fixed it.

This is a short Video of the final repair of the Umarex M3 Grease gun magazine. As it turns out is was a simple repair. I was surprised how simple it was to make. As I mentioned before I replaced it several months ago so now I have 5 Magazines instead of 4, so go figure. I did use 4 full magazines (5 actually) for the test about 265 .177 cal BBs; however in my excitement I forgot to turn on the camera for the first mag I fired; Opp's... Sorry. I guess I did not figure that this repair would work. The range I shot from was about 37 feet from target.
I do have to give Umarex a round of applause for making a simple Magazine that can be repaired. So thank You UMAREX!

Video below.

You are welcome vintigeairguncollector@gm.

That is also my First Purchase as well followed by the M1A1 Thompson (which I just added real wood furniture (grips) on it.. man I love that BB gun (my favorite).
I fell in love with these WWII replica automatic BB guns a couple of years ago. they are really fun to shoot (AND CHEAP TO SHOOT).
I own the MP40, M1A1 Thompson, and the M3 Grease Gun.
As a reminder the magazine for the MP40 and the M3 Grease Gun have the same capacity for BBs, the Manufacture (Umarex) "recomments" 52 or 53 BBs that are in a staggered configured in the Mag in the BB channel.
But you can if you wish, use a very small (like a tiny one) screwdriver to cagigger/manipulate the BBs to 60 BBs in the Mag.
I never do it because it just takes to much time for the process; and for what... another 7 or 8 BBs in the Mag? I saw this one guy who was loading the BBs in the MP40 (on YOUTUBE) and he was handloading one BB at a time and turning the mag from side the side with each BB he dropped in..... yeah it works but I personally just want to load the clip/magazine as fast as I can and get on with shooting!

I posted these on YouTube and have received a couple of comments/requests about a parts diagram (exploded parts diagram) for the M1A1 and the MP40 umarex guns from users who want to try to repair their Umarex BB guns.
I posted answers that these are NOT Firearms and are NOT for field striping, also I do not recommend (neither does the manufacture) to try to take these guns apart. The BB guns (.177 cal BB) guns that I have repaired were/are out of warranty by at least 2 years. My MP40 by more than that. I do have two exploded diagrams but they are *.pdf format. I do not know if Airgun Nation supports .pdf or Word.pdf conversion documents. So even if one had a PDF viewer (I do not believe so) one would need a PDF viewer. So I will search my applications to see what I can do.

Thank you Air King for the likes, I appreciate them very much. I believe that many more leaking magazines will appear in the future and perhaps this stuff I post will be helpful. Thank you again.

I finally found the Umarex exploded parts diagram for the M1A1 (bought a new computer Dell G15 5530); anyway below is a PDF of the diagram 8X14 landscape view. I know that I promised some time ago but I have many files and organizing them took some time. And with security, folders, security appliance's ... well below is the file.
Promise Kept.
