Umarex Notos FX Barrel Kit 500mm .25cal

Thoughts on this

They work just like the FX system does. No tension on the liner, just compression

Semantic mistake. The front nut is a solid contact point pushing down on the end of the actual liner, the fit rear and front is snug, not reliant on compressed o rings. The shroud is held in place by the compression against the front bushing by the moderator or cap.

Just like the FX, the barrel accepts the thimble and jam nut, compressing the liner.
No, not the same. The contact area on the dreamline,/crown barrel grabs a tiny area at the final 3 and half inches or so of the liner. Vs the entire liner being held firm by a contact point at the breech and the crown with no room to shift. The breech end of the liner isn't the only contact point with the c88 system

My friend, I'll take pictures side by side, FX & C88.

With the FX system your thimble and jam nut are one unit at the breech end.

Ahhhhh....

Your talking about the FX liner-lock!

The jam nut is at the end of the barrel and accepts the moderator.

The thimble attaches to the liner-lock that holds the breech end of the barrel.

Then, yes! The thimble from C88 also includes the liner-lock.
Then it's different from the notos version. Which I prefer. To the dreamline version. The results I've gotten are the notos version is more secure and less prone to POI shifts from jostling than the dreamline system which allows 80%~ of the liner to float freely. Now if we're talking 'In a perfect world's where external stuff like wind or walking doesn't effect the rigidity of the barrel. I'll grab the dreamline every time. But, although minute, the POI in the FX can and will shift with even minor bumps

I've heard that a lot but I grab my Maverick by the barrel and it never changes POI.

Notos version (I have 4 so far) is the same, thimble-liner-jam nut.

Dreamline just dangles. The changes are minute. But I think half a minute at 50y is a tragedy. So maybe I expect too much.

Also I must have misread. I thought you were saying the zelos version had the same locking system as the fx. Nevermind
