Tuning Umarex Notos has arrived.

This is a 25 yard , 7 shot groups where the magazine gave me problems. It’s definitely deforming the pellet as they load. Not sure what’s causing this misalignment. Can’t see anything obvious that’s causing it.

This is 7 shots at 25 yards, with each pellet loading well. ( I’ll show another pic next showing a group with the magazine loading roughly.) For best accuracy it seems it’ll require the single shot tray that comes with it, but my “good” groups at 25 so far are plenty reasonable for me.
I’m using 18gr JSB’s this morning. After going through my .22 pellet shelf I cannot find any of the 15gr JSB’s I planned on trying. Otherwise I have a plethora of 18 gr FX and JSBs and a variety of H&N’s from 21gr down to 18gr, as well as a bunch of NSA slugs.
With the velocity sitting at @700 with the 18gr I don’t think there’s any point in trying any of the heavier H&N’s or NSA slugs. Gotta order some more 15 gr pellets to try out.
You pushed me over the edge, I'm going to order one.

I wish they were a little more modular and you could remove the moderator, change barrels, etc. but for $265 it looks like a solid deal for a close range compact airgun!

Okay looks like I'll be ordering one.

Hopefully mine will have the same energy you are getting! Way over published stats.

I’ve put some silicone oil here and there and worked the bolt back and forth a couple hundred times. Have probably put 100 pellets through it today. Ran another 7 shot magazine over the chronograph after the rifle had been out in the cold for a while to see what effect that had on it. Still pretty well hanging in @ 700fps-ish. Able to hit soda cans at 60 yards, but I think thats beyond the intended hunting range of a little pistol carbine like this.

I guess not due to hold , then you did get a single shot tray to show that vs mag? So nothing on them pistol grips i asked ? No point buying the grips extra in already in the box. Then there cheap enough $10 and sight kit 10$. Ouch.lol

The more I handle the Notos, the more inspiration I see that was drawn from the HK mp5. It’s nicely adapted into this form. Very comfortable to shoulder. Very sleek and balanced. If I can get the magazine issue lined out I’ll be well satisfied with this one. I could see this platform doing very well with being up-sized into a more powerful .25 or even a .30 caliber.
Pros so far:
lightweight and solid.
Excellent balance and good power and very decent accuracy for its size. It feels very handy.
Noise level is VERY low.
Quick easy refills on the small reservoir. If you were hand pumping this one you’d have no issues at all.
Cons:
Magazine/rough loading
Plastic scope rail.
Left handed action takes a little getting used to. I think it would be more ergonomic if the left handed cocking lever were engineered more forward toward the middle of the reservoir (above where the left hand would already be), but I’m sure that would unnecessarily complicate matters and add unwanted cost. As it stands I keep looking for the action above my right hand after each shot.
I’m sure I’ll have the feel for it as it is after I’ve put a tin of pellets through it.
I tried using my Uragan King with the lever switched to the left side … but since it was so easy to switch it back and forth I just put it back on the right side and didn’t go to the trouble of un-learning the muscle memory of a right handed action. I think left-handed folks will really enjoy the Notos’ action.

I shot my groups from my Caldwell tripod so there’s minimal issues with hold. Have not tried the single shot tray yet but I definitely need to.

It’s a little too chilly outside today for me to be able to settle in and really get down to the nitty gritty. I’ve just been spending a little time here and there shooting a few magazines and then coming in to warm up.
There are no pistol grips in the box. I don’t have any. You certainly could use it like a pistol without buying the grips, which look like they’d be similar to 1911 grips.
The grip assembly slides into the stock in a way that is very similar to the way that the Crosman carbine stock attatches to a 1322. BUT this stock is very rigid and well fit and doesn’t have any shifting around like the Crosman version does.

Good question on the mod removable. That would be a bonus if threaded.. now i need to know..

The spa pp's. Only sold in free countries.. opps i mean overseas / low power like canada/(wes) or uk or krales for usa power. Americans need not apply or cold sholdered on most air gun stuff it seems vs other places. I mean who do you think you are? Pretty sad.. all the jat stuff available overseas but not here for you local so to say..
There is a lot of cool stuff overseas. Then again, do foreigners get asked, "YOU PAID WHAT FOR A BB GUN?" Still too many Americans with the "I can get a .22 for that price" mentality.

I agree! I’d love to see a removable moderator and I wish they sent more than one magazine with it, but for the money this certainly is a good value as it is! I think this will be a platform that gets some aftermarket parts made for it by someone. I can already envision myself buying a 3D printed forearm grip that slides over the air tube.

Are hand pumping this one or something else? Ares should be here tuesday or wednesday. curious to how much faster 16 gr would be. My guess is around 15 -20 fps faster across the board. I believe my wife will love this one.
No I don’t hand pump anymore, but I would with no hesitation if I had to. And this little rifle would be easily refilled with a hand pump, especially if you are pumping back up every 20 shots or so.
When I first got into PCPs I hand pumped for years. I actually hand pumped all my PCP’s until the Air Venturi 4500 psi pump came out and I decided I was tired of rebuilding my hand pump every few months. I’ve only used the AV 4500 for a few years now but I’m glad I bought it.

I dont get why the whole caboodle aint in the box to start. Carbine, pistol grips , sights, extra tray, extra mag . That be a big selling point . seems umarex has that all priced cheap enough not to bang your billfold..lol. Tray $6, grips $10, sight kit $10, extra mag $20 . For 50$ you can have the compleat gun.
Heck 50$ just buys a hw front sight alone..lol.

Also being just .22 don't hurt cause my .22 tin of pellets is now a $1 cheaper then the same in .177 . So right now a .22 is cheaper shooting.

Now got to wait and see if other guys notos is over powered as this guys or stuck at that 12 grain at 700 speced there showing.. lol

I received my notos today, this thing is awesome compared to the Jet 2 I have which had no accuracy whatsoever out of the box and is a work in progress. It fits and feels great! I had a problem with the second load of the mag too, but when removed the pellets and reloaded them all was well. I really like this one! Here are some pics and stats. These shot are only 13 yards indoors for now but the attached moderator DOES NOT NEED TO BE REMOVED! She is quite!!

What a great little rifle! I think these are going to be very popular pcp’s. Can’t wait to see what kind of aftermarket stuff pops up for them. Congratulations on getting yours! Do you have any lighter pellets to try in it?
