Umarex Notos Probe Spring

Hi all - I received my Notos a few days ago and noticed that there is a small spring on the probe that sometimes slides into view when chambering. Is this a cause for concern? Doesn't seem to affect anything but would be nice if it stayed in place all the way forward on the probe.

P.S. - This is my first airgun since I was a kid and also my first post on AGN. I've been a long-time lurker and finally decided to join the club. Thanks in advance!

it's normal

Yup - normal. And as noted already it appears to be for hold ing the cocking lever in place when closed.

Both of mine have that spring but it has never slid back on its own I reached in with a bent paperclip and pulled it back fairly easily. I plan to ignore mine but if seeing it bugs you some grease on the forward end of it might keep it from sliding back.

Sounds good. Thanks geezer

You are welcome.

The other makers out there are going to have to up their game with accuracy and price to make me give up my Notos!
Yea this thing is great. IL has stingy laws in place for airguns (.177 is fine but .22 or above needs to be <700 FPS). Thankfully they advertise this gun as 700 FPS so I had no issues getting it shipped :p. I also pre-ordered an Avenge-X in .177 that I will swap over to .22 once everything comes in August!
