Umarex Umarex Notos regulated at 200bar

I finally got a chance to tune my Notos to which I added the regulated drop block and a 250cc ait bottle.
Initially the regulator was set around 160-170 bar but over a few months the pressure went to 200 bar.

No other mods, not longer barrel, etc

I added a heavier hammer spring.

I can get a max of 835 FPS with CPHP.
I decreased the hammer spring preload to get a more efficient tiune.

Does anybody know if the Notos can handle 200 bar long term ?

This is the latest shot string.

Pressure: 280 bar to 200 bar
Velocity: 800-815 FPS
Shots: 84 shots (12 mags)
Regulator: around 200 bar
Hammer adjuster: flush with the receiver

Notes
Can get 2 more mags (13 and 14) and the velocity goes down to 790FPS.

Adding that drop block and fixing all the leaks afterwards took me almost 8 hours.
But I am stubborn enough to not give up

If the reg went up it's creeping which can be from adjusting it under pressure the wrong way. Fx guns get cranky and creep if you adjust downward under pressure.

I think valve lock or losing orings is the worst you may have to worry about.

I only increased the pressure with air inside.
I know that decreasing the pressure may damage it, if it is under pressure.

The drop block is a fake Huben Dream valve, which I bought for under $50 during a sale.

I was getting 925 at 2200 /152bar. With CPHP.
You need plenum volume. That's a poop ton of pressure on that gun, that's taking a lot of potential shots away...

Even with only the stock barrel a plenum and a 150b tune I was over 845 with CPHP.


Add the CRC or C88 plenum and extension and you'll have 15.89 JSBs or AEA at that same speed.

I am not about power with the Notos.
It's supposed to be a small lightweight airgun.
800FPS with CPHP is plenty for hitting targets at 50-60 yards.

I know. My point was you can generate those numbers with WAYYYYYY less pressure. Even without the plenum. However, adding a plenum would allow you to get 800-835 on CPHPs at even less effort than without. 3k is a lottt of pressure and is cutting your shot count in half. Youre likely only getting 835 because your hammer can barely open the valve at that pressure.
Try 2100 or 2000 and just play with your hammer spring. From flush, inwards 1/8-1/4 turn at a time. You're cutting your shot count by at least 50% as well as adding stress to the valve seal and housing.

Did you mean that your Notos valve stem get damaged by too much pressure?

this is true.. but i also got it before the huben dream valve came out.
then i got the generic QUPB z valve..
and then the huben dream valve came out. if i had exercised some patience, i would have just got the dream valve lol

I'm saying in my hand was a notos valve beaten to death by excess pressure. And I'm saying 3k isnt necessary for that velocity.


Out of the box you should be 725-735 with 15.89s at stock regulator setting I believe thats 18-1900psi. You should be 765-770 with cphp.

2100-2200, max 2400 should be all you need for the gun to move CPHPs at 835. A little increased hammer tension and you should be able to hit that on 2200. You have 3650~ to play from . At 3k you have 650~ psi before you're off reg. 22-2400 you have 1250-1450. 650- That's nothing unless you enjoy refilling every 13 shots
