Umarex Umarex thompson machine gun magazine malfunction

Hi, I checked the other threads but couldn’t find something about this. On my brand new UX M1 a machine gun magazine there is a pin at the top right behind where the BB eject. It seems to be sticky. Sometimes it will jam in the forward position and stop BB from being ejected into the chamber.

In looking at the schematics, I think that it is supposed to slide back-and-forth and there’s some form of spring in there to ensure that it is in the back position, allowing the next BB to be pushed forward into the breach. I suspect as the bolt comes in and strikes the back of the magazine.

Does anyone know if this is just something that can be lubricated with silicone oil or if something more significant is required?

I’m in Canada and bought it from a small retailer and so I don’t think returns are likely expectation.

I may end up ordering a second magazine just to see if this one operates better and use the other as a spare.

From your description it seems to appear that the co2 chamber (the thing that hits the BB forward) may need a little silicone oil; however I am not sure just by your description. In any case if that is indeed the problem I would recommend silicone oil 200 to 350 CST. That is a thicker silicone oil.
At that point use a small metal pin something with a handle that you can try to maneuver it in, it will spring back, It does not move very much so be careful.
Do not smack it with a hammer or something of that kind! Do it by hand.

As to buying the M1A1 I do have a question..
Did you buy it new? Or was it used?

If new the mag like the gun has a 90 day warrantee on it and you can contact UMAREX if it is under warrantee. If not and the silicone oil does not solve the problem you may have to buy a new Mag.
I am assuming you are not referring to the BB gun as the problem.

I do own the Umarex M1A1 and have repaired it (adjusted ) several times, although this is the first time I have heard of the chamber getting stuck on any Umarex BB gun. I also own the MP40 and the M3 Grease gun.

Good Luck.
