Underlever to solve the problem of aging shoulder muscles?

Maybe a different cocking motion is in order. Might try seated with the stock between your legs and using both arms together to cock. Or possibly seated with butt under one arm and the gun upside down, allowing a curling in vs. pulling down motion. Hope you find a way that works. Then, there are always PCP's.

I support this statement ^^^

I still shoot a 54 and a HW90 by placing the butt of the rifle in the crease of my leg/abdomen...

I speak from experience. A broken back in 2014 and surgery with a couple of rods put in...but by far the most debilitating injuries were to my right shoulder in other accidents. Had to sell my Theoben Sirocco Grand Prix as it was to painful to cock. I went to a Theoben SLR an underlever. It is much easier. I also have a Rutten Winstar Mach1 with 2 cocking motions..out and up and then back down. By far my easiest gun to cock! There are videos around. I also have a Rutten Airstar. No manual cocking required....it cocks electronically! A very neat gun and a great backyard plinker Battery is in the buttstock and electronics in the pistol grip. At least 200 shots per charge.

Browning sold them . Browning Airstar 200. There are some around. Usually in good condition because of the racket they make when cocking. Convert the batteries to lithium. Check out the video. Will the neighbors mind the cocking sound? Neat looking guns. Somebody should pursue this again. I might need a gun like that some day.

Here's something I noticed . Seems odd but..... If you are right handed like me chances are you put your rifle butt on your right hip to cock a springer.. And pull with your left hand. Try putting the butt on your LEFT hip to cock. Still pulling with the left hand. It's easier for me anyway. Feels odd at first but no doubt easier for ME. Breakbarrel or underlever. Not really an issue at 60 I'm not having any difficulty. I'm a fairly strong 60 year old. And I still have a strong back.(I give thanks for that) This method uses my strong lats and not my biceps and chest. Uses a different muscle group. Just try it and see if it helps. I hope so!

The video about the electronic cocking Rutten is hardly a fair assessment. He assumes that everyone goes out to the forest to hunt with airguns. Hardly, how many target shooters and backyard plinkers? ....probably more than hunters! The fit finish and engineering is as good as Feinwerkbau's and Weihrauch's. I even use it for tree rats.

Please show us yours better. I have read they are really well made. I'd like to know more about them. What caliber is yours. I can't find any other videos about them so that's the one I posted. I believe their could be a good market for a gun like that. Airgunning amongst us older guys has really expanded in the US since that gun was marketed.

Thank you

Did I just admit I'm an older guy?
