Understanding why?

I spent over the years 22 Grand at Pyramyd air and I've been extremely satisfied with the service, the few times stuff wasn't right they did make it right fast with occasionally going above and behond the expected service.

Pyramyd Air is as big as it gets in airgun specific store.
I couldn't agree with you more, I have bought 2 out of my 3 pcps from there. top notch!

Yes. I shot a Daystate and a few others like it while back. I used to spend a lot of time at Tim McMurray's shop and at some of the shoots that he held (as a range officer and NRA certified rifle instructor). The guns were all nice, just not that-much-money nice. If I can hit a fly at ten yards (and I can) with my QB, I'm satisfied.

I see many complaint threads about PCP rifles here and it makes me wonder why that is so. Heaven knows the QB-78 needed some help when I got it, but I knew that when I bought it and derived a lot of joy from making it shoot to its potential.

Cheers,

J~
I think there is more complaints now days because,,,, in most company's of their quality control and no sense of pride .

I agree. That's one of the reasons that I favor the Sheridan and my old Crosmans so much. I'd like to see the 160/167 return with a Lothar Walther barrel.

HPA guns are much more intricate and complex than many people are capable of dealing with. I spent quite a bit of time untying other people's guns at the range where I worked, and that was with powder-burners.

Wow. That's a nice series of set-ups!

The Blue Streak I have dates to '65 and it's never needed repair. I think it (along with Crosmans and Benjamins of that era) represents the best days of American airgun manufacturing. I found it on craigslist a few years back. At the maximum of eight pumps it throws a 14.5g pellet at a little over 600-fps.

I was reading BB's blog for today a few minutes ago and it reminded me of just how little the manufacturers understand about what we as shooters want in an airgun.

Cheers,

J~

@357cal I’ve seen a WesShoppingtern Bushbuck, a Bushpig, Rattler, and Sidewinder but I haven’t seen a Bushmaster. Is the Bushmaster a new gun?
I apologize, have made a mistake in calling it bushmaster, you have it right, it bushbuck but there is a bushmaster made by crosman its a co2 bb gun,lol Thats a very nice rifle! They surely don't make them like that. Ill bet anyone who knows about them would offer you a nice dollar, but you would kick yourself in the butt to lose a gem like that. Thank you for sharing your rifle. here i have the 257 Texan, AEA 357 big bore challenger and the best pic i have a my avenger it 70 fpe, doing my final upgrade, lol you will have to double click on it to get a good look.

Their are no air gun stores in the area that I live so I have no choice but to use the above methods.
You always have choice. In my case, I drive hundreds of miles to buy my air guns. Not because there are no dealers near me, but because I don't want others, including big brother, to know and I ALWAYS pay cash for the same reason. What others do not know, won't hurt me down the road.........your call. Just ask ask DonnyFL.

I bought from Walmart because (1) they had the gun in stock, and (2) the manufacturer warranty is the same regardless who the vendor is. (3) Walmart is about 10 miles away, and the nearest big city is about 5 hrs’ drive from home. I’d make that drive for a high-end product sold at only a few stores but not for a mass-market one...which, BTW, works just fine. PB LGS store does not sell airguns.

Nearby Walmart met the demand, no need to go farther away, AND buying there does provide some local tax revenue as well as employing workers.

I don’t buy bicycles or kayaks from Walmart, but maybe someone else likes what they carry in those. Depends what you want to buy. I’ve made several round-trip drives of 1500 to 2000 miles to buy high-end products, but I have no need to buy guns of similar quality level or rareness.
