Unofficial AGN Monthly Shooting Challenge - December 2024

Merry Christmas, Airgunners!!

Another month, another challenge. Here is the paper target for this month:

The PDF for this target is below. As before, the highest score on this target wins and you get bonus points for "reaching" farther out. Try to shoot at 25 Yards if you can...unless you are cool like @Frank in Fairfield and are shooting off-hand.

For the alternate challenge, shoot something real that is Christmas related. I don't have example ideas for this month, but use your imagination. Shooting freckles on a Grinch (@LessMundane ) or some ornaments, or if you'd like to do something wild, like putting a Firebird inside a star on a tree, that is good too. As before, please VOTE UP your favorite entry for this actual target challenge to the right , and the entry with the most votes 10 days after the end of the month will be declared the winner!!

I SUCK!
Kinda difficult to see the ornaments at 10 yards with the peep and aperture.
The star is not too bad.
Total (if I add right) is 5!!
If I go to the range on Wednesday, I will try again with the TX200 or PRod..

The rifle I’m using is a Philippine made GCMAG Magnum Gen 2 with GF1000 barrel configured for benchrest. Sporter/hunting stock or an aluminum chassis can also be installed. So far it is only available here in my country and hopefully late next year they will be available in the US.

Hit or miss, up in the air, a gamble, potluck, haphazard, erratic, unpredictable, a toss-up, fifty-fifty, trial and error, and my favorite; "depending on the wind." Fly was working with a new barrel and I with a just arrived Ghost. We are hoping the next challenge will bring better results.

I had to "sneak one in" before the end of the month. Here is a video me "spreading some Christmas cheer" all over my yard:

Here is a close-up of what it looked like before the Avenger got ahold of it.

I think the video shows the carnage as it happened pretty well. Near the end, I am just shooting the little trees. You can see it better in the video to the upper left.

For the paper target, though @Frank in Fairfield definitely gets an Honorable Mention for being "man enough" to shoot off hand with iron sights, Ricky (@TheAirgunnero) takes the crown once again with an outstanding performance on his Philippine made GCMAG Magnum Gen 2. Thank you to everyone who participated (or wanted to @woogie_man )!!

@LessMundane and I are tied so far for the Target Shooting Challenge, so we'll see who takes that honor in about 9 days. Don't forget to vote, airgunners!!
