Unofficial AGN Monthly Shooting Challenge - January 2025

Happy New Year, Airgunners!!

Another month brings another challenge!! Here is the paper target for January 2025:

Obviously it would be better to shoot a 177 for this one to hope to get within the red circle. If you are cool like @Frank in Fairfield and shoot off-hand, shoot this at 10 feet, but if you are shooting off the bench, I am thinking a minimum of 25 yards, but it would still be a good idea to use a 0.177 for this one.

For the alternate challenge, shoot something real that is related to the New Year. I don't have example ideas for this month, but use your imagination. Shooting corks from champagne bottles at 100 yards would be awesome. Perhaps you may want to use a pellet to light a match for a firework...that would be awesome too!

As before, please VOTE UP your favorite entry for this actual target challenge to the right 👉 , and the entry with the most votes 10 days after the end of the month will be declared the winner!!

Edit: Here is the current Bragging Rights List (so far)

Since there weren't a ton of entries for this contest this month, I wanted to submit a couple "under the wire" for consideration. I did the paper target first. Here is a link to the video for this entry:

For this one, I used my Crosman DPMS. Since the magazine has 25 shots, I took one sighter, and "sprayed and prayed" for the remaining 24 shots on full auto. I ended up scoring 9 points, which isn't too bad considering my whole entry took like 3 seconds. Here is a picture of my final target with the scoring:

OK, here we go again. This time, I am taking the actual target challenge. Here is a link to the video:

For this one, I am saying goodbye properly to 2024 by blowing it up using Tracker Snake exploding pellets.

Here is a picture of the blown up date:

Finally, here is a picture of my gong with the scorch marks on it. Awesome!!

I soooo love your “sprayed and sprayed” comment! 🥳

I tried your challenge on a very windy (15+ mph) day. One pellet went out of the target because it was a bad one so 23 pellets were scored. I did not bother to repeat the challenge since I’m reserving the few QYS 9.56gr I have left for other challenges.

Congratulations to Ricky (@TheAirgunnero) for having a clean sweep of the paper targets so far. He obviously "smoked" me with my "spraying and praying".

Thank you all for your interest in this contest!! 👍
