Up grade my Yong Heng water pump ?

i have heard some say the water pump that comes with the Yong Heng compressor are a little to weak to cool
properly. My water supply is a 5 gal bucket as I,m sure most use. I do not seen to be having any trouble. Maybe
I,m just over thinking something that does not need up grading? But if indeed I should, what & where should I
find a better pump. One other question is should the water supply be above, or Level with the compressor ?

I also have not had cooling problems . GOT over 50 c when it was 100 degrees out . I have a 7 1/2 gal clear plastic tank with a lid . 8 $ walmart and I have it at the same level as comp . I have forgot several times to shut the pump off and it ran for 24 hrs . WORKS FINE. use cool water and through in frozen jug that also gets forgoten about . Good luck comrade

Water level with compressor is best, easier on pump. YH came with 400L/H pump few years back, they upgraded to 600L/H. Damaged mine using cord to remove from bucket, replaced with 600L/H(160G/H) aquarium pump (eBay) for $11, cord better secured. I'd only consider higher flow if circumstances caused water level lower than compressor. WM

I did not have any issues with the stock water pump. I usually have a water reservoir under the table where I have my Yong Heng running, I don't think there is much difference at what level you place your water bucket, the water pump will pull water anyway. I like the idea of having frozen water or ice added to the water bucket to help to keep temps down, didn't think about it before.

"Slightly off Topic" When used properly, what is the Average Lifespan of these water cooled pumps?
I put ice in my bucket half full ...its cold...I use alot.more.air.than most.shooting tethered to my .510 texan...I've rebuild mine 7 times in 3 years... I always keep a new piston and gasket set on hand. I usually get.to top off my 45 min SCBA tanks from 3625 to 4300 psi about 6-10 refills before needs new top end piston...I always change the whole piston. Can change. Piston and gasket s in about 30 minutes
