Hello Fellow Shooters and Happy New Year! The Boerne Field Target Club will be braving the temps and wind this month! Bundle up! But first,
ALL SHOOTERS MUST COMPLETE A 2024 WAIVER PRIOR TO SHOOTING AT THE BSC! No ticket, no laundry.
At the end of this announcement I have included a general letter sent to the BSC’s membership but also addressed to all. It brings some very exciting announcements about airgun competitions at The Boerne Shooting Club. The Field Target match announcements for the Boerne Field Target Club will now include the overall airgun schedule for the Boerne Shooting Club, as there are numerous disciplines now offered, such as the N50 Benchrest. Be sure to check the schedule!
BOERNE FIELD TARGET CLUB JANUARY 2024

Time: Gates open at 8:00 am
9:00 am - 48 shot* Rifle match Starts following MD meeting
12:30pm - 48 shot* Pistol Match Starts

Entry Fees are $10 per shooter, per match
Snacks and water and air will be available.
New shooters and first time visitors shoot for free!
No shooting will be allowed on the 25, 50 or 100 yd range while a FT match is in progress. Signage will be clearly posted on the sight in range.
As always, a few Club notes and news…
Jan-March will be a 48 shot match for both rifle and pistol. I will be closing 2 lanes at a time to conduct some long anticipated maintenance and to add new shot placements. After attempting a few times this past year, I decided to limit the next few months to 48 shots while I moderately overhaul two lanes at a time. While the math makes that 5 months, it wont take that long, I anticipate by April at the latest all will be done. In the end the plan is to at least double our target locations, extend some lanes to 55 yds, install tree stands and have the newest wood carved lane markers and directional signs installed. In addition, the more ‘seasoned’ targets are also slated to be repaired and/or replaced. One match this coming spring may be using all the S&S Custom Targets from TFT, of course tuned down for AAFTA ( cuz they can do that!). Just a heads up if y’all are getting used to the yellow we are growing to love! This would be because paint stripping and prepping is easiest done in continuum, not aggregately.
Tenacious Airguns, one of our kindest sponsors, has graciously donated the famed Cricket 2 Tactical to the club for shooters to experience how an Eastern Bloc bullpup can perform in FT. I’ve been truly blessed to have been shooting with it recently and can say it will not be easy to part with even for a single shot! Anyone interested in shooting with it is welcomed to do so! The epitome of Eastern Bloc, Tenaciously tuned for FT. Derrick, you have our deepest of gratitudes.
So as we saddle up for an exciting new year of FT in both rifle and pistol, don’t forget that airguns are alive in Texas! 2024 brings in N50 benchrest, 100yd Benchrest, more venues set up to shoot Texas Field Target and the Luftgewehr Schützenverein! Keep your eyes up and your pellets sorted!

N50 Benchrest - Weather Permitting during winter. Practice may be shot instead.
Weather outlook looks unfavorable for afternoon benchrest attendance, 11 mph sustained winds in the low 50’s. While January will not be for record, Practice targets may be shot however for any who wish. Cost will be $10 per shooter. Similar targets will be provided. Range will close for n50 practice at 5:30.

January 2024 Airgun Competition Schedule
Message from the BSC Airgun Match Director:
Dear Fellow Shooters,
2024 stands to be quite a memorable year for airguns at the historic Boerne Shooting Club and beautiful South Texas in general. The Boerne Field Target Club has added regularly scheduled 12 FPE Pistol matches, the BSC has officially joined the N50 Benchrest league, and on our 100yd range we continue to host Texas Field Target, TFT Silhouette, and will be welcoming 100yd Benchrest in the coming months. We are also proud to be introducing the new/old “Luftgewehr Schützenverein'', an airgun modified version of the historic discipline of our club’s founders.
With the growing pains of 2023 behind us and an even more robust monthly schedule, we will be announcing the BSC’s monthly airgun schedule to the general BSC membership list as well as each discipline's associated clubs. This will help ensure all shooters, powder and air alike, are aware of all the airgun competitions at the Boerne Shooting Club, as interest in airguns is growing rapidly and many are starting to shoot numerous disciplines. This also assists in planning for our out of town shooters who may have not known about the additional airgun matches and may wish to participate or observe. Considering a number of shooters are showing interest in staying for multiple matches and into the evenings as the warmer weather sets, we also wish to offer options for and in some instances provide meals for shooters. This not only is necessary considering the locale and visitors, but also an integral part of our shooting club’s history of also breaking bread to bring friends and families together and for making new friends altogether. Please look for meal options in the coming months as a welcomed addition to our airgun Saturdays.
The Boerne Field Target Club and Texas Field Target will continue to be the websites for the full match reports, additional news, pics and other match specifics. N50 monthly local match results and pics will be posted on TexasFieldTarget and on the National50.net website for the complete and aggregate scores. All airgun match entry fees and registration will also be available online beginning in spring 2024 as well, offering shooters multiple options and multi-match offers.
This is going to be an exciting year for airguns in Texas, and the Boerne Shooting Club membership deserves much of the credit for embracing and welcoming airguns. With the encouragement and faith you all provide we are making airguns a fixture in South Texas.
On behalf of The Boerne Shooting Club I would like to thank all the airgunners who have made our home a home for airguns. Bringing people together is at the heart of our club, and airguns have surely made their mark in our history by carrying on that tradition.
