This is the the coolest mod that’s come out since the multishot breeches. Combine it with an AR stock and that’s one badass carbine.

Last I heard Bluefork Design still made a nice all metal AR style pistol gripframe for the 22xx guns in aluminum silver or black. For those who don't like plastic parts on their guns.

Although I have to admit those do look pretty cool.

You be welcome. It's hard to beat the trigger on the 1701P, bottom pic, though. Although it does not look as cool it is definitely a step above in performance. It used to be $40 from Crosman.

One of the best trigger mods I have found, other than the 1701 complete frame assembly replacement, is Steve's adjustable sear. It's hard to beat this one. Early ones were hardened steel.

There are other options out there from time to time like this, nice aluminum gripframe, from AirGun Buy but they are a bit spendy. Still it looks like a very nice unit for sure.

As for the original post I like the fact that an AR style grip can be used. I'd much prefer that vs. the stock Crosman frame angle/size. As for upgrade replacement trigger, the 1701 trigger/frame group looks the same as the P-Rod group. I ordered the Prod trigger/frame group direct from Crosman and it was $38 (i think). Paired it with a Magnum AirPower dead-blow 2240 hammer (looks and works more like a P-Rod hammer).

The 1701 and Prod are the same, I believe.

If someone would make a version that uses 1701/Prod internals and accept AR furniture, sign me up. The Bluefork units look great and function well, but at the end of the day they are still based on the spring loaded crosman style trigger/sear. I do have a slight bias as I am using them for higher power applications which require a bit more hammer spring than your usual 22xx application....

Word of warning, I bought one of these and it just arrived. The Ebay description labels this as "fused deposition" and "fused polymer". Fool me once, as I read it quickly and thought, "oh hey it's polymer...cool." Not so much. It looks like a high school kid 3D printed it. The finish is rough and it feels like most cheap 3D printed things - like it's about to break. I owned a Bluefork a long time ago and sold it regrettably. This is nothing like the quality of the BF Designs. My opinion would be to avoid this part.

Never been a proponent of them horrifyingly ugly 3D printed stuff.

I have 2 BlueForks and I will never sell them.

Both were black at one time.

Mine have undergone plating---nickel boron by CCR.

I think BlueFork sells them again but the latest version has humongous inscriptions that look unpalatable to/in my eyes.

I wanted to buy the 1911 version from him (his personal one) but it had a ding, so I did not go for it.

A scratch would have been OK (?), as I will have it plated anyway, but a ding is a different story.

Oh, mine are both the AR---should have bought the 1911 version while they were still available from HPA Sports.

OT: I purchased an aluminum DISCO trigger assembly (with a specified stainless trigger) from Magnum Air Power and it looks fantastic!

I paid over $150 for it but it is worth every penny, IMHO.

I asked him (Mr. Bill, the owner) a favor to handpick one from me and that is what he did.

It is a very clean-looking (CNC-made) and spectacular piece of contrivance but I will have it nickel boron-plated, too, to preserve its beauty.

Bead-blasted alum and stainless look fine and neat but they are very prone to scuffs and scratches, especially the former.

Oh. MAP, the seller, is one of my most favored suppliers!

Anyone remember the Crosmodz stuff back about 15 years ago? Those parts were really cool but I remember people complaining about having a hard time getting them. What happened to that guy? Want to say his name was Doug
