Update with pics, problem solved, Bobcat is fixed.....

If air is leaking from this hole, and the gun is not under factory warranty any more, what would be the best course of action?

The gun continues to leak even after I remove the air cylinder until the pressure from the regulator is all gone.

I'm fairly handy and I'm not terribly afraid of taking the gun apart as long as I could have assurance from someone who knows better than I do that there isn't anything in there that I'm not going to be able to tackle without special equipment, etc. Wasn't there an exploded diagram of the Bobcat that someone produced a while back? I'll try to do a search in the mean time. Any help greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
Cliff

I said to heck with it and jumped in and started taking it apart. There is something to be said for the sense of accomplishment you get after you take your gun apart and successfully put it back together in complete working order. Especially when you didn't really know what you were doing to start with.

The entire shrouded sleeve system had to be removed from the barrel so that the plug that needed to be unscrewed from the block had room to exit as it was being unscrewed. Also the nut that holds the system in place where the air tube screws into the breech (the part labeled "G") had to be turned slightly so that the flat part of the nut was perfectly flat on top because if not the threads would rub against the nut, the tolerances are that close there.

Once everything was clear, the plug unscrewed easily and the attached parts slid right out. From there it was smooth sailing. It was pretty easy to identify the o-ring, clean it, inspect it for damage, clean the gunk out of the corresponding parts, re-grease it, put it all back in order and screw the plug in. Once it was all in, I screwed to air tube back on to pressurize the regulator again and after a few shots and not hearing any air hissing out and grinning ear to ear, I put everything back together and I'll go out tomorrow morning and toss some lead down range to see how it holds up.

Thank you Eric for the info you found for me. It was basically the only thing that gave the courage to try it and the knowledge of what to expect inside.

Regards,
Cliff
