UPS beat up my Box

The photos of the box in the original post scream of improper packaging in my view. UPS would probably say the same if the contents were damaged. You can't expect a flimsy, single wall box that long with mostly air inside and a small diameter item flapping around in there to hold up to a trip through any shipping system. Fortunately for many of us, the contents of quite bad packing jobs do survive, but poorly boxed shipment losses must be in the multiple millions of dollars a year just with Amazon, not even counting their porch pirate booty shipments.

Yes it seems they all view the fragile stickers as a challenge.
This!

As to claims....
I've gotten money from UPS, but that was at work where we have an account and a rep. I spent some time on it. A lot of time.
My advice is document everything but it can't be a whole assembled unit.
Label it parts and disassemble any complete unit to make it unrecognizable as a complete unit.
Pack it like it's getting the American Tourister luggage treatment (remember broadcast TV and commercials). And take pictures of every step of the packing process. If you have a photo of a complete unit you will not receive any money.
They don't ship any type of ____ rhymes with buns
Insure it for the correct amount that you can back up with receipts or invoices, preferably again as parts.

If you can't kick your own box to the curb, it's insufficient packaging.

Amazon has these companies seriously stretched thin from all the boxes to deliver.

I’ve had good fortune at the local level. Drivers back down my convoluted driveway and leave packages in the carport. I tip the driver when I can, and that may help. Poor packaging is most often the culprit in my experience. Here is a barrel that came from the Netherlands, I think there were 7 layers to get to the barrel, but if it weren’t a solid barrel, who knows, it may have been one of those shoots around corners barrels when unpacked.

Their evil twin, (FedEx) got me today. Luckily, there was no damage, but I made sure I did an unboxing video while I opened it. The red in the pic is a fragile sticker

FRAGILE on any package from any shipper is a challenge to everyone that so much as looks at the package, not to mention touching it.
