Airgun Technologies Uragan 2 600 vs 700mm .22 cal

Hello all,

I'm about to buy a Uragan .22 cal but I cannot decide in what barrel lenght. I will mostly use it for max 25 grain slugs, I can't go heavier in my backyard because of safety.

I see that the 700mm out of the box comes kinda tuned for the 25 grain slugs, but im not so sure about the total lenght of it.

Will the 600 be enough for that and still be backyard friendly? Or does the 600 needs a moderator to calm it down?

The loudest part fo the rifle is the hammer smacker the valve. I have the 700mm in .22 the person ai bought it from said he never tuned it, so out of the box it's shooting 28gr Varmint Knocker slugs at 880fps. Overall length is 39", I don't plan to put a moderator on it as I dont want it any longer but the shots really arent that loud, it's the smack of the projectile.

I dont want it longer aswell. The 700mm is long enough, its just 1 meter. If I go with the 600 I can still attach a 10cm moderator if needed, but i'm not sure if I want to go that route.

I really like the green one, thats the one i'm looking for aswell.

To put a 3" moderator you'll need to buy a modular one as the shorter 1 piece I believe is 4" like the one thatXs proprietary from AGT

They got a kevlar one on sale with m14 threads like the Uragan. Its only in .25 cal and .30

https://huma-air.com/modular-air-moderator-mod40-4-0-standard/

Its going to be a hard choice I think what barrel lenght I would be happy with.
What're you trying to achieve with the rifle, power wise? The 700mm is gonna give you a 10-15% more speed. I know you want to stay with the 25gr but the 700mm can do close to 65fpe pretty easy. If you're not ever gonna need more than say 55-60fpe then I would get the 600mm. It may even be quiet enough for ya.

Contact Tony at talon tunes, he tunes the guns for customers that ask all the time, he'd be great to buy it from as well. If you're in the US ofcourse. Otherwise you should be able to contact him for info.

I have a. 22 uragan 1 standard with a huma . Small factory plenum compared to the newer ones tuned by Derek wall.. and it shoots 25gr knockouts in .216 at 960fps with awesome precision.. n my barrel is barely 22" long.. so you should have no problem with a extra 2" of barrel in the 600mm to be able to achieve the speed yo want yours might go a little bit heavier , without the need of 700mm

This thread is making me feel good. I finally made my mind up and ordered two guns. Uragan 2 king 700 .25. and DRS 22 700 with the massive plenum.

Sorry, mobile platform issue.

Huge shroud on U2 and V3 really limits noise. Had moderators on both .30s (700mm), not any longer, just not needed. My vote is for 700mm, U2 won't seem long, and you'll be open to more options in the future. WM
Would you consider them backyard friendly without a moderator?

Thanks already to everyone for their opinion!

I finally came to a decision and ordered the uragan 2king .25 looks identical to that.

I've seen no negativity. Typically there's one or two snapping wet deuces in the proverbial cheerios.

25 @930fps is where theoretically you should be it out of the box with a 700 if Jace'e 28gr at 880 is typical. 39" isn't much worse than 35"

@mercado Had an issue with three different U2 that would not work correctly.

The 700mm is capable of pushing 40 gr slugs over 1000 fps. The 600 will be capable of more than enough power for 25-28 gr slugs. The factory AGT shrouds do a great job quieting down the guns. I have a 500mm Vulcan 3 in .30 that I don’t even run a mod on at nearly 80 ft/lbs. I get quiet is subjective but I see no need for one. I do run a mod on my Skout epoch and wildcat bt. Both are louder than the agt if I don’t run one.

My biggest gripe on the vulcan 3 for me is the ping. That 38mm shroud works wonders. The shrouds on the FX work okay if you're doing anemic tunes.
3... How. The entire batch was corrupted? Whered old buddy get em?
I'm not sure where he got them from.

Not the uragan 2 .. both where. 25 uragan 1 + vulcan 3 500mm. 25 .. the .25 uragan 1 where so bad that the poi shift depending on scope weight . Harmonics where horrible in the .25 -- the other 3 i managed to understand them.., the vulcan 3 could not group anything at 80y + the ping even with the factory depinger is simply horrible.. Uragan 1 likes solid bench + a tensioned barrel + lubed slugs .. in order to perform at it best .. you will never do a of hand shoot with them .. barrels are to thin and they wip around shooting of hand at 14mm thick not even tensioned you will shoot them of hand accurately.. barrels in all platforms should be at least 16mm thick.. and 18mm thick in long range guns..
