Airgun Technologies Uragan 2 hammer spring adjustment.

Is backing out (counterclockwise rotation) the hammer spring on Uragan 2 lowering the hammer impact? I know it sounds silly, but iirc, Leshiy adjustments are the opposite, so wanted to confirm.

I backed mine out as much as I could to see if I can bring velocities down to subsonic levels. I don't want to mess with the regulator just yet (I use a hand pump, so it's a hassle I'm not excited about), and the heavy pellets I used (34gr JSBs) are flying out at around 1000fps, and the groupings are not the most consistent.

Bought some Zan slugs to try, 33gr, 37gr, and 45gr, and decided to see what I'm looking at with 45gr slugs. Came out the muzzle at 870fps. Gonna try for accuracy tomorrow.

If it groups well tomorrow, I'm happy with it, but I wanted to make sure I'm not cranking the power up by backing out the hammer spring screw.

Thank you.

Never had an uragan but I did have a Vulcan 3. Counterclockwise did lower hammer spring tension on it. It was responsive (velocity lowering) when adjusted. However, I did tune the reg down from where I received it. The agt guns are power houses and if you want to shoot pellets you will probably have to turn the reg down.

Did you buy it new or used ?

Bought it new. It is a powerhouse, indeed, I just wish it grouped better. JSBs make tight groups but are very inconsistent out of it (fliers every 4-5 shots), JTS don't group as tight, but they are more consistent. Going to try Zan slugs tomorrow.

My Uragan King is very sensitive about the hold. Try putting your shoulder into it and hold very firmly. Relly tightened my groups. Shooting JSB 18.1 at 1000 fps. Nice groups.
Interesting, I usually try to do the opposite. Went to shoot today, and it kept walking the groups. Like it will start in one spot, then start migrating until settling a few inches to the side. So frustrating, I don't want to keep paying for different pellets and pay extra for tuning. Really considering selling it already. The power is there, but it does not want to group. Gonna try the tight hold tomorrow. If not, will probably put it up for sale.

Here's an example of today's 10-shot group at 50m. Started close to the bullseye on the right, then moved to the left and settled down in that tight group on the left for the last few shots. Never touched the scope between shots.

Gotcha. Do you think it would affect shot count at all? Maybe lighter spring would prevent some of the bounce, if there is any?
Uragan 2's balanced valve uses pressurized air to support valve operation, kind of like power assist in power brakes. My understanding is HS changes are minimized by the power assist. Vulcan 3 and original Uragans do not have balanced valves. Feel free to experiment with HS changes and adjustments, just be aware might be all for naught. WM

That horizontal walking could be a scope problem. Another optic or clamp the rifle in a solid rest to remove the human and optic from the equation.

That's what I was thinking. It's a Vortex Diamondback...not top of the line, but they seem to be decent. I had a suspicion that the turrets are not tracking right when I returned it to zero with the pellets I previously scoped with and they were not where I zeroed them. Need to see what optic I can use instead.

Tagged for info. I’m going through the same situation with my Uragan 2. Hammer spring adjustments didn’t do much. Haven’t touched the reg yet. Can’t get a consistent string on the garmin (770-950fps). Shooting jsb kings and the heavy mk ii.
Original U2 balanced valve failed (full power, squib, full power, squib, full power, etc.) after few months, returned to Krale for warranty replacement to upgraded version from AGT, no problems since. WM

Thanks for the info. That exactly describes what I am seeing. Here's a bunch of different hammer adjustments.

Edit to add:
I'm also in PM's with OP, I'm not trying to thread hijack -- just help color in a shared issue.
