Hello.
Since I bought my Uragan it has given me nothing but headaches, I have 2 Vulcan and never give any issues.
Hope someone with more knowledge can help me solve the enigma.

I charge the pcp to 250 bars, and the groups open up (please see the atached picture), but when it reachs 100-110 bars the point where the regulator breaks the groups are very tight.

Distance to the bull 41 metres.

I refill again to 250 bars and the groups open again.

The regulator gives me the following numbers,

Initial pressure , 250 bars.
JSB Exact Jumbo Heavy.
Fx radar.
11 shots String.
907-907-907-914-907-905-909-909-909-905-909
AVG - 907 FPS

As soon as the pressure reaches 100 bars on the gauge, the numbers are,
893-888-877-875-870-868-861

Any magic potion for this enigma?

Thanks in advance for you time and responses.
Best regards GHBF.

Seems like it likes to send pellets around 880 fps. Can You adjust your hammer spring?
X2

Fill the gun to max, and adjust the hammer spring down to get them flying at 880fps and your accuracy should be there along with a tighter spread than you are seeing at 100-110BAR. You'll also gain some shot count, and likely have a quieter gun too.

I appreciate your comment, next weekend I will do what you tell me.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Regards,

I second what thumper said. You want to shoot the pellets at the speed the rifle likes, no reason to shoot it faster. Those pellets love to be shot at 880-890 in most rifles. Mine have loved that speed in most my rifles and sometimes around 930, but that has not been as consistent. The 880 range has been pretty money for me across all my rifles, and many others agree.

Your goal is to find what the rifle like and shoot it at that speed. That is the goal with any pellet rifle.

Thanks Smok3y.

You right I have to adapt to what the rifle likes and not what I want, 880-890 fps are more than enough for hunting and pest control.
Regards.

If it gets more accurate, quieter, and you get more shots, it might be worth it to drop down. If power for hunting is a reason, you could try going higher too. When I first get mine, I take it up much higher than I think I want, and try it every 10FPS or so down below where I think I will like it too. That is the only reason I found 930 worked pretty good.

I just thought of something else, that I forgot to comment on the first time too. With many of my rifles, I have also found that they are less accurate at 250 bar than they are by the time they get down to around 230 and below. Both my Uragans were like that. My Red Wolf (CG1) hated being above 230. My total spread would be lowered by 20FPS just by starting at 220. My Crown was same way, and so never filled past 230.

Thanks Smok3y,

Saturday I will do tests starting at approx 970 fps and going down to 880-890 fps, I want to see at what speed I will get better precision.
It is correct of all the regulated pcp that I have had, none of them grouped well above 230-240 bars, that is why I do not see the point that some can be filled at 300 bars.
I'll tell you how my tests went.

Hi folks.
As I had told you yesterday I did some tests. I couldn't do anything more elaborate as the cold was criminally discouraging to stay outside for another 10 minutes. Here are some images that speak for me.
Regulator set to 115 bars.

I edit the post to share some images of the regulator tester that a friend adapted from an $10.00 pump filter from aliexpress.

Apparently my uragan with jumbo heavy likes high and low speeds.
Cheers.
