Airgun Technologies Uragan gen 1 thoughts from long time users?

I have heard several people complain about the U2 ping. The later models have a depinger installed and the ping is less.

And hard for me to tell if my uragan compact OG does it as i have some hearing loss.

And here is the U2 with and without depinger.

Do they actually have a depinger or do they just say it has one?

I know it's off topic, but have you ever looked at a Airgun Revisions Crosman Challenger HFT? An HW100 carbine etc? Heck, a Crown can be turned down that low with the right reg, and maybe even the factory reg, I haven't tried that yet.
There's alot of much better guns, IMO, for 12 fpe or less use, that are lighter, better triggers, and arguably easily as accurate if not more so. Just a thought. If you're stuck on a U2, then I certainly understand that.

The hose issue is really not a thing..It looks like it might be when you 1st see it, but I have never had a problem in the 2 Ive had or the single compact I have now. One thing is for sure..The gen 1 triggers can be set to outstanding without any spring changes, etc... just knowing how to do it & an allen key. It's an unusual sear set up but a damn good one !!! My gen 1 has stayed while many many of everyones favorite latest & greatest have rolled thru here. If you every did have a problem Derick knows them inside & out. I have never got a straight answer if gen 2 has same trigger set up as 1. I suspect not.. I have only had to replace a single oring at the check valve. Tricky to get to that one..but I survived. Accuracy without flyer's is the top reason mine won't go anywere. trigger right behind that....Ergo 3rd

How quiet is it with that 0db? I've tried a bunch of cans and none are as quiet as with the shroud (quieter with shroud and can)

I think you will have to tear it down to be sure. But if you were to compare the two side by side there is a huge difference and you would not pick the one without.

Gotcha, I noticed that when I adjusted the reg to 82-85b it got significantly quiet and there really is no ping from within the plenum so you're definitely correct.

I almost forgot to comment on something. Hopefully other owners can confirm if it’s just a gen 2 thing or not. My little Uragan rings my eardrum every time I squeeze the trigger. It’s not the muzzle report. It is directly in my ear. It’s hands down the worst of any bullpup I’ve ever owned. Not sure if it’s hammer strike or plenum ping.
I've noticed this varies through the pressure range. It's slightly louder from 220b and up, from below that it's much quieter, almost non existent in comparison. .22 cal btw

Getting your hammer to quit trying to kill the valve helps. That’s why I discussed it in that other topic.
True that! The gun came tuned to 105 from Tony. (Got it from scott.t) It was damn consistent too, 5 shot string came up with 865,861,865,865,865 with the 15.89gr. But turned down to shoot them between 800 and 803 is where the magic happened. Shot count increased, noise reduced, and accuracy remained impeccable.
