Pissed me off when I 1st saw E.L.'s video showing lethality of airguns! (I couldn't watch til the end) DOES NO ONE think ahead of unintended consequences? Not when $ or getting more viewers/subscribers are at stake, I guess.
Not when the all important subscribers and đź‘Ťis the most valuable and important thing.

That’s a bad thing for sure.

We are calling it upon ourselves …
All the hunting and long range shooting videos. If they thought we were only punching paper it might be different.

What did we expect … shooting dummy torsos and listing FPE in the hundreds.

Hopefully it will lose steam.
I cringe when I see such videos. What are those content creators thinking? My thought is they are not thinking of the potential damage to the community but are selfishly aiming for views.

Saw this coming, as much as enjoy my long range slug guns I can do without. But the cat is out of the bag and you can put it back.

Another YouTube guy that's off the rails, and bad for our hobby.

The best thing to do is a đź‘Žto their videos like this and a negative comment.

If everyone on AGN did this things might change. It would be even more helpful if AGN staff and moderating team also did the same leaving negative feedback.

The forum members and airgun shooters on Airgun Nation and other similar forums are a small percentage of the overall airgun consumer. I would guess that the vast majority of air rifles sold in America are to youth and newer shooters just entering the shooting world. Airguns are a “gateway” drug if you will. From the perspective of the “anti-gun” crowd; making airguns more expensive, overly regulated, and less accessible has got to be a desirable goal. If they can cut-off the next generation of potential firearms owners then they are one step closer to their end goal.

Yes because in this particular instance just protecting my happiness by staying in my lane and abiding by the rules in place now with something I got into that is a hobby would be a hindrance to any who want to speak up right? What a 🤡
Name-calling is quite inappropriate however if that makes you happy so be it. I did not call you a name I stated that if you are not willing to stand with the masses on a common front your presence is holding back the ones that are willing to go to the mats. I understand it is a me world and if it doesn't affect ME or hurt ME then why should I get involved? they seem to be going for the low-hanging fruit, which is us airgunners, UNITED WE STAND DIVIDED WE FALL.

You called me dead-weight, you described me in such a way, I described you in such a way. Me not "standing with the masses" in this instance is not hindering anything at all. You just wanted to sound "cool". There are far more important things in life worth fighting for at this point in time within the country, I am going to partake in my hobbies unaffected while I fight for those things rather than turn my hobby into a stressor.

Well, I have never been cool so why not try now, LOL have a great day. That is why I left the Northeast with many hateful selfish attitudes. You have every right to it so enjoy it.

Sorry, but I can't resist.

One sentence from your letter struck a chord:

These are tactics against airguns that the airgun community is currently unprepared to fight effectively.

Why is that? Could it be that most airgun forums effectively bar ANY discussion related to future or pending airgun legislation and from what side of the aisle it comes from?

Seriously, look at the SqrlHntr's post, it's an important issue, but he shrouds it in mystery and directs us to a link off site so that his post won't be immediately removed. Because - God forbid - someone might be offended.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I've never seen a group of shooters so determined to sacrifice themselves so completely that they bury their heads in the sand and then let their political adversaries have their way with them.
You don’t want to talk politics? This is what you get.

Mehh, I wouldn't worry to much about it.

And even if the worse comes to it, you'll have to register your airguns, is not like you cannot have them anylonger.
I hate using old cliches but their is a saying. "Registration leads to confiscation."
Look at what happened in Canada and England as well as other countries around the world. Even here in the U.S a few places like New York City people were forced to surrender registered legally owned guns that were banned after new laws were passed.
And please nobody say we are talking about air guns not firearms so we shouldn't worry. They are coming for them all.

Some of you may remember that not long ago their was a similar thread like this but about replica air guns. Air guns that look like real fire arms. Some folks here that shoot at long range and use powerful air guns shooting slugs were saying that since these replica guns make us look bad they should be banned.
Now here on this thread we have people saying those powerful slug shooting air guns are bad.

So this is my question. How many categories of air guns do we have to get rid of before our hobby is considered acceptable? Once the powerful guns are gone and the replica guns are gone are they going to come after my break barrel single shots?

As far as some of those u-tube videos go I agree we are definitely shooting our selves in the foot (Pun intended). Those videos need to go.

You can thank all you guys who just gotta shoot slugs and big bore guns and then make videos and post on YouTube on how powerful they’re "airgun" is that can take a buffalo! 👏👏👏👏Congratulations
Absolutely and I’ve been saying it for years. Ironically when or if this hobby dies, those idiots will just move on to the next thing that will get them likes and subscribes. And that’s why I don’t watch. You watch them, you’re just as guilty as they are because you are what’s keeping them going. Dumb. Not you personally Crabby, unless you’re addicted to airgun videos.
