USPS losing my packages

lol. Package I'm expecting today got shipped to New PARIS Ohio - I live in New LEBANON, Ohio.
Easy mistake, right?
They had to drive through my town on the way to New Paris - 26 miles past my town.
Go figger!

https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/usps.1301510/Thread from a few weeks ago, I had a doozy last month
Sheesh! I've got a better one though, I bought a .22 rifle from a fellow member on accurate shooter forum - sent him a $1500 check priority mail in the huge cardboard envelope. Post office lost it! He had shipped me the rifle in the meantime - trusting me because I have great feedback there and on RFC. I sent him another check snail mail and filed a claim with PO. One MONTH later, he contacted me and said the original check - still in the HUGE priority envelope showed up. I think that I lost around $40-50 extra because of canceled check fee and priority, insured postage for first check I sent. Post office did NOT reimburse me completely - even though package was insured for full amount. Took quite a while to receive it also.

I have had a very similar event that went on for weeks lol.

It only ended when my local postmaster started to do an inquiry about the ordeal for me.

Mine will probably go back to Cincinnati distribution center - seems to have properties like a black hole in space - sucks things in and they have a hard time escaping its gravitational pull.

The seller needs to contact USPS and initiate a search for the package. I did this 2x once when package sat at a terminal for few days and a day later movement resumed, second time was on a shipment of scope rings, that was 6 months ago. All I get is a monthly reminder that "package hasn't yet been found, but we're still looking. I'm just going to file a claim for the money at this point. As mentioned before, the vendor should come through for you but have them initiate the search for it.
I'd have to agree with this post. I once bought some Armasil silicone oil from MictoLubrol and after it got "stuck" in New Jersey I contacted the shipper. Two days later the shipment was found and on the third day it arrived. Wishing you the best.

Just had the same thing happen from amazon but called and was refunded promptly....I had contacted the seller twice but was told it's late...amazon refunded saying something was definitely wrong as the package tracking showed it stalled and never left a facility. It's happening all over but certain companies like amazon it's less of a headache to get refunded.

Well, I was right. My package went from being shipped to wrong post office from Cincinnati, BACK to Cincinnati, and now it has been shipped to yet ANOTHER wrong post office! I am going to call the Bellbrook post office when they open and see if they will hold it for me until I can pick it up. (about a 45 minute drive, but at least I'll finally get it) I'm sure the Bellbrook post office will simply ship it back to Cincinnati yet again if I don't.

Picked up my package from Bellbrook, OH post office. I asked clerk if they would have forwarded it to my post office, he said "Nope! would have went back to Cincinnati" *groan*
My second package is out for delivery from my post office today. Yay! These are both Crosman Icons by the way - shipped from same place.

This post fooling around seems to be quite a global phenomenon. Most of the people who work there just work and are not interested in anything. In addition, the thing is automated, so there can be no mistake :censored: and even if it does, it cannot be fixed, but it is allowed to go from place A to place B for example 10 times. Maybe then maybe someone somewhere in between will notice that someone is wrong.
Yesterday I picked up the shipment that came to me. I knew there was a barrel blank. About 60-70cm long and tubular packaging. Weight about 4.5 kg. The employee took the information from the arrival notification and went to pick up the package. Came back with a package which was about 25cm x 15 x 10. As if the book was packed in a box. I immediately said that it was the wrong package. The employee said that it must be correct because there is a label that the post office puts on the package with a number and a barcode that matched the number of my shipment notification.
I still argued because I knew that there was no way a 60cm long and about 30mm thick blank would fit in that package. The employee finally agreed to take a closer look at the information on the package he brought, and the name was also wrong. So they just rely on a sticker here. And it can come off or nobody can glue it to the wrong package on the way  I asked the employee to look for a long and thin tube-like package. Well, after a while she arrived with a proper looking package. Fortunately, because it would have been a shame if this blank had been lost due to the post office's confusion...

I've been hearing more and more of scams in shipping companies with these looters and smash and grab groups. Especially bad in gold and silver buyers and sellers. Big inside jobs happening! Sucks but its the climate the current government groups have created
Anybody that denies this comment of yours has no clue whats going on.

I try not to argue with people if they feel like they should give me a thumbs down for my simple input or disagree so be it. I love everybody and try keep peace but there are evil spirits out there and they make people do awful things like stealing packages and there's a ton of money to be made that way.

I'm glad you received it in good shape at least. I have a good friend who is a world class bench rest shooter who has had at least two (expensive) bench rest barrels severely damaged in transit.
Thanks! I'm happy too. Now is the time of the year when helpers are hired in a hurry, so I guess it's best to avoid shipping and go pick up if possible.

I remember a time when you ordered things and they always said “Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery”. My how things have changed. Now I can track orders and get an approximate date of when delivery will happen. I have one now with DHL that’s hung up in Ohio….been sitting there almost a week. Guess they are just waiting till someone comes along that’s headed to Oklahoma, 😂

USPS has lost two of my airgun related packages in the last two months.

The first was a shipment of $150 worth of pellets I bought from a user off the classifieds (he’s a great guy, did nothing wrong). I tracked the delivery and for the first couple days everything was fine. Then it arrived at a shipping facility and just stopped moving. That was a month and a half ago. I filed a claim and heard nothing.

The second is more recent and far more heartbreaking. A GK1 I ordered from a retailer. Again I tracked it and again everything was fine for the first couple days. Then the nightmare repeated itself: it arrived at a shipping facility and hasn’t moved since. It’s been a week. I know some of you will tell me not to panic, but after what I went through with the pellets, I’m not sure what else to expect.

Don’t know what to do at this point. I assume the pellets are gone forever. I’m not expecting my claim to go through. As far as the GK1 I will reach out to the retailer on Friday if nothing has changed. I am so angry and disappointed with USPS. Never had repeated issues like this in my life, back to back. The thought of being out $1400 because of their disarray is infuriating.

Any advice is appreciated.
Maybe the USPS sorter needed an airgun to go with the pellets 😂

Ever since the USPS lost some docs I sent insured and signature required to NYC I avoid them at all cost and tell everyone to do the same. The lost docs were “delivered” according to the mail person but magically “appeared” after weeks of repeated phone calls up the USPS food chain.
