Utah Airguns C-

The problem is, because the seller is the one who paid for the service, it is the seller that is the only one that can change the way the shipping company delivers the package. Or so I was told by FedEx in Jan when Pyramid Air made a similar mistake. I spent an hour on the phone trying to remedy it myself before FedEx told me that. To which I communicated that to Pyramid tAir and Pyramid, unlike Utah Airguns, actually had their shipping manager take care of it while I was on the phone. My rating is not harsh. Harsh would be an F. A C- is fair considering that Utah Airguns did not tell me that the package would require not only a signature, but a 21 or over signature at the time of the sale (called, did not place order online). Not only that, but because of this I had to cancel a well planned and well deserved hiking trip too. As a business owner, my average week M-F is 70 hours and so I take my me time very seriously. That being said, I don't appreciate having to modify my day off because of incompetence and an I DON'T care about my customer attitude.
The more people try to defend Utah Airguns for making this mistake, the more I have to elaborate on the mistake. The more I have to elaborate on the mistake, the worse it is for them. Because they did make a mistake and refused to fix it when I called. Defending them only makes it worse for them.

You didn't need to cancel your hiking trip. Fedex would hold the package for up to 10 days before sending back, if fedex is too far for you to go see which any distance would be too far for me since I paid for delivery, not pickup, then you could simply go online and change how it was shipped (I have taken signature off a handful of times, or you are allowed to leave a signature on the little pink slip they leave saying that you are unable to be home when the package arrives ( ive even had my mother forge my name when I have stuff shipped there) as has been mentioned. I did not defend THEM, I laid the scenario out as someone who deals with this every single day of their lives ON BOTH ENDS as a seller and a customer in both professional and daily environments and also values their time because if you didn't notice I said day job, which would be ok to assume I know all about the 70 hour weeks.

I like a lot of your posts and I agree with you here to an extent.

I got the text notification at 4pm on Friday that my package would be delivered sometime the next day before 12 noon and that it would require a signature. I was on my way to my Jiu Jitsu school to start teaching from 4:30pm until 9pm. Sorry, but I am not going to put off the some 150 students that I have for this matter because a phone call to the seller is not good enough. When a customer takes the time to call a business about an obvious problem, and that business does nothing to remedy it other than say "there's nothing I can do," that business is worthless to me! As someone who literally deals with 200+ people a day, by myself, I do more for my customers than that! They made the problem, not me, They refused to fix the problem, and when I called I was calm, and respectful. I don't have the time to fix their problems for them, end of story!
Would you like me to dissect the problem even further to even further expose their mistake according to even the most basic curriculum on the subject of business and marketing? There is a right way to run and business and there is this new millennial way of half-a$$$ing a business. Old world business ethics are what a guy my age and with my experience is looking for when I chose to spend my hard earned money with someone. It is not my job as a customer to run their business and handle their problems for them. End of story!

You don't have to explain or defend anything. You stated the facts as they happened ...PERIOD. We live in a time now when feelings and thoughts seem to carry more power than the truth and facts...or some think they can simply change truth or facts based on how they feel or think.

Personally I'll reserve judgement until we hear from Paul Harvey.

Utah airguns cannot change that delivery option once the product ships. I know you keep saying that but they cannot. Yes they probably should have been up front about the requirement I’m guessing they put on it as fedex doesn’t automatically do it until the 500 dollar mark is met. However a call to fedex probably would have resulted in an easier solution than cancelling your plans. I definitely wouldn’t write off UAG over it.

Just need to point out that the shipper can stipulate that the receiver cannot change the delivery to a different drop off location. I have retailers that when it is over a certain dollar amount require signature and prohibit a change to say a local fedex office. Instead if oine is not home you need to drive to the local hub no matter how far away that might be to retrieve the package.

Yes, actually they can lol. Went through the same thing with Pyramid Air last month, called FedEx and they told me that I cannot cancel the signature required but that the seller can. Called Pyramid Air and the operator had their shipping manager take care of it while I was still on the phone. Do yourself a favor and call FedEx yourself next time before writing stupid responses like this. Let this thread die already. It's purpose was to give a review for the public based on my experience. Being a fanboy will not change what happened.

Nevermind not worth it. You have a good day

Ya

As a business who ships regularly it's hit or miss whether or not the delivery can be changed. If it's past a certain point you're SOL. I ship over a million dollars in parts for work a year. For things far more urgent and important than airgun items. If my stuff doesn't make it on time, companies lose tens of thousands of dollars a day ....
