I'm still dinking with this one on and off but am pretty happy with both the tune I've presently got on it and my strelok truing as well. I shot it for the first time in a couple of weeks out in my back yard yesterday and first thing I noticed was that I wasn't happy with where I had the scope - to far back. I moved it up a little bit and sure enough that changed my point of impact a little. No big deal - scope re-zeroed @50 I then verified at 75 and then 100. Both good to go. I then setup a target out at 150 yards and keyed that into strelok and sent one. A little high. ( I'm shooting off of my car so not exactly shooting off of a bench comfy and stable ) I send a second one - yeah - a little high. I dial down about 3 clicks and send another. "There it is." One more - "Yup - that's a buck fifty . . . and I mark that on the scope". I go back into strelok and tell it what the actual click count was ( 3 clicks less that what it told me ) to see if I can "true it up a little more" and . . . yeah. Strelok does it's math stuff and . . . ok. Happy with that now I'm like - I'm just gonna set one up out at 200 - I'm thinking that it (the gun) can do it - and I'm somewhat confident in my own capability as well. Somewhat is the operative back there . . . I'm gonna make me a BIG target so as to (hopefully) see splats (someplace) on it assuming I'm even close. Pic one - I used four 8" targets and put them all onto a large'ish piece of cardboard. I ranged around from where I was at from the car and found a spot up near the top of a field and proceeded to hump the target out there. ( pics 2 & 3 looking back at the car from the target and then looking out at the target from the car )
Pic #4 - shot #1!!!! I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!!!! I was hootin' and hollerin' ( I musta looked like an idiot if anyone had seen me - lol!! ) !! I couldn't believe it - I dialed up to what strelok told me and held off to the left about what it told me too ( there was a slight, very slight breeze - maybe 1 or 2 mph l-r ) That (the very slight breeze) is what really proved to make this tricky as it was on and off - it would be there for a few seconds - and then be off. It was also "different" feeling for me from where I was shooting at the car. I should have put a flag or something up there by the target ( although I likely wouldn't have been able to see it anyway . . . ) Judging when that little breeze was on or not was tricky to say the least. I'm thinking the shots over to the left were when it was off. I don't know what happened @shot #3 - that one was low compared to the rest. Shot #5 - I could feel that breeze again from where I was at so I held the same as best as I could per strelok ( and shot #1) and, well, landed it right next to #1. I called it at that point - two out of five at 200 yds. Maybe not the best in the world - but for me - and this new gun that I'm still dialing in - I'm a relatively happy camper.
Oh - last pic - I made sure to mark it on the turret! ( lol )
