Arrived at Kihei Maui last night just before new year. Saw lots of fireworks as if they were greeting for our arrival. We will be spending a week here on our family vacation. Sorry I wouldn’t be able to post any airgun shooting videos lol.

Any members here that are local residents? Any suggestions on things to do in Kihei?

Thanks

I'm not local, but fresh venison backstraps, a pig roast, and a luau on the beach with the locals sounds good...

No, but check out:
I assume you’ve visited 7 sacred pools? Did you count the 52 bridges to Hana town? Wash your hair with the cold river water and shampoo ginger plant? Watch the sunrise at Haleakala? Truly sad that Lahaina town burned to the ground. Halloween on Front street use to be BANANAS!

Yes, that was an amazing jungle experience off the beaten path. My brother used to live on Maui, and I did the bike ride down the Volcano, Dove the Caves off 3 Graves, been around the island many times, spent almost 2 months there but it’s been years now. Yes the Fire was hell. I still have family on Maui they run a business in Paia.

No, not yet. We will do the Hana drive for the first time on Wednesday. Will look up the popular spots along the way. Thank you.

We will have to add that to our plan, thanks.

Woke up by some song birds early morning and this was our view out of the balcony.
Beautiful Maui!

Lots of tropical birds flying around. Saw some starlings and got me home sick for a bit lol.

Sunrise on Haleakala is awesome...IF you thought to bring a ski jacket, it does snow up there, it was FUN watching the other tourists in their shorts and tees freezing their bums off. Yeah taking a ski jacket to Hawaii, who'd have thought.

Yes, done that last time we were here. We were prepared with layerings lol. Most beautiful scenery we have ever seen. We might do sunset this time.

In '22 we saw a minimum of 20 totally burned out vehicles on the Road to Hana.
WHATEVER you do, DO NOT stray from the beaten path, let alone "Park anywhere and trespass wherever."
First signs will be buckshot and .308 through most posted signs on the Road to Hana.
The locals were posted up on most of the waterfall trails and they were "charging a local fee" or not even letting anyone other than locals in.
DO NOT leave ANYTHING in your vehicle no matter where you are - not even the beach in Kehie.
Keopuolani Regional park bathrooms are super dangerous - DO NOT USE.

DO book a helo tour and buy the front two seats.
They'll try to upsell you over priced red or black flight jackets - don't bother.
DO buy the video the pilot will be shooting - it will be better than any camera you can bring.
Just enjoy the ride without looking through a lens.
DO snorkeling/SCUBA/SNUBA before noon to see the best variety of see life.
Morimotos & Mamas Fish House for GREAT eats.
Thank you for the warnings. Much appreciated. We will do early morning snorkeling tour tomorrow at Molokini.
