I have had this typed up and saved for some time now, I should have posted this sooner as it may have prevented issues others have had...
On 3/18/2023 I saw that New England Airgun had 2 Veradium Air Taurus in stock. This was my chance to put my hands on a high tier (at least the price tag anyway) big bore I had seen only here on the forums, and very scarcely at that. On 3/19/2023 I tested the rifle, they are advertised at 360 fpe with 185 MR HP @ 940 FPS, mine shot very weakly at 844 FPS and down on the consecutive shots. Another airgunner here on the forum I will not name had been using Brian for some time and at this time had great things to say so when we were discussing my results he advised I get in touch with Brian as my rifle was not right.
After a phone call Brian very eagerly told me to send the rifle back to make it right, he also said that because I had an issue he was going to install a new tensioning system he had been working on and a competition trigger. I told him I was crunched for time as I wanted to use this for the Squatchbomb event at the Northeast Airgun Classic as I had spoken with John French about possibly being open class FPE wise , Brian promised he would have it turned around in a week or less. At this time I was really happy with the customer service and had asked if he had any suggestions for a rifle for PRS for the same event, he laid out a build over the phone for a great slug shooter and said I could have it done in a couple weeks , his promise, not my request, (this way I could practice as the competition was only a month away) I enthusiastically said yes lets do it and paid for it that day.... shame on me for thinking it could be done when I was told with certainty it could be.....
A couple weeks go by, a bit longer than he said which is to be expected with hiccups like this and I get my Taurus back, its doing the exact same thing , it also did not have the new tensioning system or trigger he promised me....with only 2 weeks left I used an avenue of recourse that many don't have with Brian , and that was to return it to New England Airgun, John made good and took the rifle back no question.
Another week goes by and I am now 1 week from the competition without the PRS build I requested so I reached out, I got an "Ill have it out in a few days" , a few days go by and havent heard anything so I texted Brian 4/13/2023 asking if I paid for a Next Day Air Early AM shipment and sent him the label if he could get the rifle to me as next week was the competition, the rifle must not have been done like he said and tried to cobble something together , texted me back saying he could ship it "unfinished but functioning" , well I paid for the label through pirate ship and guess what, he missed the cut off and it couldn't get delivered till monday so I said hell with it hold onto it and finish it I will buy something else in the mean time and I went back to New England Airgun and purchased a Panthera because I knew out of the box it would perform ...
Fast forward a few weeks, I still haven't heard anything about my rifle so I start talking to others who have dealt with him, one who is a friend and member here who was having a Taurus built, he too was getting the run around , "itll ship out in 2 days", "ill send a video", etc, etc.... Another airgun friend across the country and also a member here having to send his back as it too wasn't shooting as advertised and other rifles that had been worked on for over a year!! this person is far more patient than I ever would have been.
Some more time goes by and its like 5 weeks past NAC possibly longer and I texted Brian while at work and asked him if I could pay him some sort of restocking fee and be refunded the remainder of what I paid for the rifle. I immediately got a phone call now, no waiting for texts back, no I will get it to you in 2 days, boom an immediate call of him IRATE and rude, talking to me as if I am a child, raising his voice, and cursing at me, he would not refund the money to me , I had to take a loss on it as the other person who was dealing with him that still held him in high regards tried to settle the peace by taking the rifle off my hands at a discounted price. Guess what, when he finally got that rifle from Brian months after paying me, it failed multiple times , having to go back to Brian each time.
With that said, I would not recommend doing business with Brian, a handful of people have spoken up in private to me and others but fear speaking up publicly because he has their gear and they would like it back, Brian seems apologetic after not following through with his promises but I think its fake apologetic, hes a small business that in my opinion is taking on more work than he can handle and because of this is making bad decisions that are only causing turmoil/frustration with others. A lot of promises and no follow through, underperforming products, and lies.
