Taipan Vet 2 owners. Would you recommend?

Looking for a 75yd and under 22 cal that is capable of shooting light weight slugs ver accurately. Now I’m not looking for super power, I’m just looking for the flatter trajectory of a slug over a pellet without worrying about it being minute of squirrel. I know the vets are heavy, but I’ve heard the new ones do well with slugs, and they are much cheaper than most slug options.

I'd consider the AGT Vulcan 3 as well. Also a heavier rifle, but very accurate and shoots about anything.

Too big. Not easy to cart around, and no need for the extra power

I have the Vet II 550mm in ,22 and the Vet Tac 700mm in .25. I'm going to test the 550mm with some 21/20 grain slugs at 900 or so and see what I get as I haven't tested any slugs as of yet. It (.22) does alright with 25.39's and the .25 does very well with Knockouts. I'll be testing .218 h&n's and some Nielsens I have laying around.

The quality you get with the Taipans for the price is hard to beat . Plus you get O-rings, 2 mags and a single shot tray . And no need for a moderator . I've only tried the 17.5 NSAs and it didn't do well in my .22 V1 . My v1 .177 likes the 10gr KOs and Zans . I should try the .22 KOs but it likes Hades at 920 so haven't tried to find a slug yet . I would bet you could find an accurate lightweight slug for the Taipan v2 .

My Vet 2 tactical has become my go to 22 slug gun, shooting 28g Zans at 920. It’s very slightly “powered up” via a PEEK poppet but the shot cycle is so Zen that I’m loathe to spoil it with mo powah. I haven’t had any free time for several weeks so I’m going to dust it off right now and see how it does from cold at 80y. Owners of guns with first shot blues might want to look away…

Yeah - it’s one hell of a slug gun. Shot #1 at a grain of corn at 80y after sitting at least three weeks with 220b in the tank.

I’m actually reluctant to post this but I’ll shoot some more to show that me and it are actually not that good…

I am a vet 2 tactical .25 owner, I can honestly say this is the most accurate slug shooter I’ve ever owned, 33.95 knock outs 930 fps bullseye over and over again. I shot my pb long shot on a starling at 147 yards with it.

After an M3, 3 Pantheras, a Mora, Uragan and a loaner Epoch, this Vet 2 is the killer 22 slug gun. That first shot capability and lack of POI shift is worth its weight in gold.

I have a Vet 2 tactical 700mm in 25 cal shooting JSB KO 33.49 slugs at 943 fps it's very accurate at least to 100 yards which is as far as I have shot it. This was shot at 50 yards
