Thank you for the trade! @Tamatie The .177 Taipan standard is taking down big iguanas no problem with the .177 h&n hornets
Fx 10.3gr, and the H&N hornet 9.57gr, I ahvent tested anything else in this gun, but I have killed 1.5 - 2 year old iguanas with FX atomics coming out of the barrel ag 620fps at 30yds. Granted it was an eye shot, but it still managed to come out the other side of the skull going through bone. And that was out of the streamline 177, it will do 8.7-9 fpe at setting 1, 13.5-14 fpe at setting 2, and 18-18.5 fpe at setting 3 shotting 10m3gr fx at 905fps. And I've already taken over 100 iguanas with that rifle. I am preffering this veteran though. My Revere Safari likes Air Arms 10.3, none of the other branded. Which ones are you shooting?
And there'a only a small difference between that and a 13.43 gr pellet going 810 or 820 in 177. I did specifically choose the hornets for the bigger iguanas, though simply because they will out penetrate every other pellet out there. I just happened to be lucky because this gun will shoot them at 960fps and still produce under .25" groups at 33yds, most of the time going in the same hole.Great shooting! Those are some big lizards.. haven't tried taking them with a 177.. but my mutant shorty shooting 14g at 800 fps knock them out 1 Shot.
To true there, I've taken iguanas up at 109yds when my impact was set up in .177 it put out about 30fpe at the time.Yes a lot of people underestimate the 177.
Mike
That would mean out of state or above tampa area lol, thank you though.my wife said she would have sold the house and moved out of lizard territory
nice shooting .
Yessir, lots of ammo gets sent out.You gotta send a lot of lead outbound in order to collect that many tails in a day
