Vevor Air Compressor

I could swear I read that you should bleed while the motor is running… one less thing to worry about so that’s good.
Just used mine and cut it off without bleeding. It made it a little tough to open the valve, not to hard just tougher than usual then blows out air pretty aggressive for a split second. I didn't like it and will continue to open valve while running.

I don't have mine yet - arriving tomorrow by UPS.
I have used my Auto Shutoff every time so far and then I bleed the air. Opening the valve is no more effort than is on my Yong Heng. It only takes about one second to completely bleed off.

Do you remember where the auto stop gauge setting was at when you first got the compressor?

I just got mine and the stop was set at 3500psi. I’m assuming that the test was done at this pressure. You would think they should at least test it at 4500psi. Perhaps this is why some gauge fail. 🤷‍♂️

Hello @JEFROX

No I really don't remember, it was set pretty high because I reset it down to 3200.

Hello everyone

I have now used the Vevor air compressor about 30 times to fill up / top off several of my guns. Two of my rifles have 480 tanks and I will shoot them down to above 100 bar and then top off to 210 - 225 bar. It is fairly quick and very easy and it is saving a lot of run time on my Yong Heng which is good. Not sure of the total running time so far, but I have installed an hour meter just recently and it is showing 2/10 hour. Shooting my Diana Bandit I get about 30 shots before I refill so I am using the compressor a lot but very short run times. So far, I am very pleased with this unit.

Hello @Scotty1

I believe you just answered the question. It's not stopping under pressure but Starting under pressure. You get the Gold Star for the day 👨‍🎓

Well I just picked up one of these, got it today and took off the cover and it looks like it is exactly the same inside components as my Spiritech compressor. Liked the two fans as opposed to the one and even with the cover off was maybe 10 decibels quieter than the Spiritech. Only did the test run so far but it looks to be a much quieter and definitely runs smoother on the work bench. Hopefully this is the ticket as the Spiritech is a parts unit at this time with only two hours on it... time will tell.

Hello everyone,

This is an update on the Vevor air compressor that I recently purchased. I now have 1-1/2 hours of run time and I know that does not sound like a lot of time, but that is run time and a lot of starting and stopping that is not on my Yong Heng. I am using it for "topping off" my guns and in the case of my Bandit pistol it only takes just about one minute to fill from around 90 bar to 200 bar. That is 60 fills for each hour of run time and it is so simple and easy. I feel this is money well spent and should make both compressors last longer.

Sorry, I never updated my gauge issue.
Vevor sent a new gauge and I put it in and it now works as it should.
I still hang around while it's filling but it has shut off at 300bar every time since I put in the gauge.
I've used it every week since then so I'm up to maybe 1/2-1 hour of actual run time.
Hopefully it just keeps pushing air for a long time.

Here's my Vevor, I added a on off switch instead of unplugging it "Yeah I know warranty oh well it was a pain otherwise" I also fabricated some brackets to secure a 3 stage filter and used elbows and fittings suitable to the psi produced and to keep lines from hanging out and catching stuff in my garage work area. As stated from others, I also do not rely on the auto shutoff only although on mine it has always shut off at my desired settings. For the money I think it it is well worth it. I have though about installing an auto shut off found on standard compressors should'nt be that difficult. one more thing I ordered a longer high psi hose to go from filter to gun and a QD with a long sleeve so it is easy to connect and disconnect.

I purchased a smaller one earlier this year and it's been doing great. I did have to find a bigger Oring for the filter housing. The factory one leaked. Luckily had one out in the shop that worked. Hard to beat with a 1 year warranty and US stock. And a quality control sign-off.

Edit wanted to add. I took it outside for better lighting for the pic and when I came back in the pressure gage was glowing. Nice

i can tell you stopping any compressor under a load with out bleeding it off before shutting it down will sometimes break the journal of the end of the crank "seen it a couple times "think about it piston turning 3000 rpm going on the up Strock then turn off"if you could catch it on the down Strock you be OK.
Hello @willy

I must take exception to your statement. If you did see a failure I do not think it was caused by the unit shutting down before the line pressure was released. There is no inertia on the main moving parts like a heavy flywheel to cause a break.

Think about this, there are literally thousands of air compressors, many of which are commercial units, with Auto Shut Off operating every day that do not release line pressure before shut down. If this was a problem within the industry then it would have been addressed by now and a solution implemented.

I envy you. I got this same one and have had nothing but problems. Transformer blew on fill number five. Started using the 12v side on the car (NOT convenient at all) when after about five more fills the compressor kept bogging down and blowing the fuse. I have since torn it all down, cleaned everything, replaced the check valve and a few other things. No dice. It puts out air until I hook it up to the gun. Then it immediately bogs down again and pops the breaker. I have spent HOURS frigging with this stupid thing and maybe one hour of shooting. GX compressor on the way now.
