Vevor compressor

My kids got me the compressor for father's day. Today when I was filling my rifle it just stalled and shut off before a complete fill. It just blacked out the temperature lights went dark. I unplugged the unit and waited for a while, fired the unit back up and the same thing occurred. Any ideas? How can I contact Vevor and what compressor would you recommend. I'm new to the pcp world, I want a decent compressor, but being a disabled vet I'm on a strict budget. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

If it has an external inverter try increasing the voltage. It'll be a small Phillips screw next to the wiring terminals.

Could be a short they sloppily wire from the factory. If you have a "auto shutoff " feature. If your set pressure is just randomly set and the pressure indicator hand touches it .. shuts off.

Edit: if you see the LCD temp numbers pulsing with every RPM it could be low voltage and the added resistance the more pressure you get could overload the motor and thus shut off. If the temp probe is set on the metal pressure lines high temp shut off. If there is a bad ground, low voltage. Or too high.

Guys are having good luck with the GS CX4. That one or a Yong Heng. Yong Heng is not portable like the CX4 but it's less expensive & has a good track record for most of us. Watch out for "clones" of both. There are plenty of posts about both compressors here in the "archives". Don't be afraid to ask questions. Looks like you just joined so WELCOME TO THE RABBIT HOLE! Depending on where your kids got yours try going through the dealer for info, maybe returning it, etc. Still under warranty?

PCPs are a horrible activity for anyone financially constrained and it has little to do with the costs of the guns and ammo....just sayin'

Started w a Vevor myself. They are what they are & like all economy starter HPCs have a short life span but new like that they should help you sort it out...hopefully. It sound's like it simply isn't getting power. If the actual pump head died like so many seem to do I would'nt be as optimistic.

Based on the observation of others, odds are if it's not a quick fix expect it to be a hassle.

Going forward good luck choosing a fighter. I have a Hill EC-350 which is pretty awesome for directly filling guns but feel really bad running it into my 6.8 L tanks, so bought a YH based on the many mixed reviews on the product. The YH is also very cheap, but occasionally you'll read of shooters getting years out of these w regular use (while others have them die almost immediately)

I'd personally highly recommend sucking it up and accepting the upfront costs of the Hill or other higher end product if filling guns is your thing and repairing compressors isn't. By the time you FA w a couple of the cheaper pumps you're probably into nearly the cost of a NIB Hill.

As cheap compressors go, the YH punches above it's weight and will fill those bigger tanks no problem, but it's loud AF and requires a water source, something the Hill doesn't.

HOWEVER.....the YH developed a very small crack in the crank case after about 5 or so hours of use which is not something that I've heard of as an issue w this product. A one-off? Maybe, or mayabe I'm just not one of the blessed YH users out there. A new

The GX series seems to get a lot of positive reviews in general. But w further reading on it there are always exceptions.

caveat emptor

Thanks Sleestak, the family saw me with the old trusty hand pump today and felt bad for the Oldman. I had no idea that they were buying me a compressor for father's day, and all they were doing was trying to surprise me. I'm new to the pcp world and so were they. They are getting me another one. Which of these brands are considered reliable? Rovair, JTS, or Nomad, these are some of the ones they have researched.

Most are some iteration of the other, unfortunately.

This forum board is full of disappointed compressor owners....basically. So it's a good place to find out in what ways different models cause misery.

IMO, for the money the YH is probably your most economical bet. And I use the word bet literally.
