Vevor (Yong Heng) Questions

Hey guys, yet another topic about this compressor. Sorry. But there is so much info about this that I'm not sure where to begin.

I ordered a Vevor PCP compressor. In europe it comes with a competitive price direct from theyr website. We do not have the same options you guys have in NA. (it was 220€ when I bought it and it was fost delivery)
Anyway, I saw some videos and topics about this compressors and I've used it a couple of times now. The oil I'm using was bought from amazon and is "Triax Kompressor MV ISO 46", the link is this:
https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B09615ZYBQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1

This is my main doubt. The oil. The first minutes of use It fumed a lot so I took it out and refilled it. That makes sense. The thing is, it keeps on fuming after some minutes of use. I take all the precautions, with proper water circulation, not starting with preasure, I have a big humidity filter, etc.
Should I use another oil?
The compressor is working fine and fills really quick my gun (480cc) and my carbon bottle (3liters). I don't let it run for more then 10 minutes in a row. But as soon as it passes the 200bar (3000Psi) is changes the sound is makes and it fumes a bit. Should I be worried?
I'm not a heavy user, but I would like to fill my 3L bottle to 280-300bar (4200-4500Psi) without problem.

What does your head temperature show? I would say your oil is fine. I don't run my Yong Heng past 50 c.

If it is pumping past 3k it probably is OK. Did you preform the break in procedure and change oil? It probably has a warranty. I would run it some and see what it does.

It looks to work ok and it fills everything ok. I changed the oil and will change it again just to be sure it has fresh stuff. The temperatura stays below 50ºC.

I'm just worried about the slight smoke coming out of the respirator and the change in sound when it passes the 3000PSI. Maybe its normal, thats what I'm asking.

Possibility 1:
Try a 3-5 min dry run. I understand, the fuming is coming out of the air breather for oil reservoir? if so, the reservoir may have contained moisture/got moisture trapped before You topped it up with the Oil. The Dry run should get it rid of the moisture.
Possibility 2:
Overheating - Check the head temperatures right below the water cooling head if possible, with a IR thermometer. At higher pressures, Overheating would burn the residual oil film over piston rod.
Possibility 3:
Piston Seal leakage (Not likely) - If the product manufactured date is very old/has used old Piston Rings over it, or if the cylinder wall have minor deformity (surface finishing issue), Changing of the Piston rings with fresh ones will solve if for previous case, while the minor deformity should get addressed through first 8-10 runs and then fuming should not happen. This is the worst case as the compressed air has then got the fumes, can be observed as residue when You purge moisture filter, use cotton/white cloth to collect and do use gloves/prongs to hold the cloth/cotton piece....

I put a frozen gallon milk jug in my cooling water , seem to help with heat displacement. I also employ the "chill-fill" method as not to have to pump to 4500psi, which serves to save wear and tear on my Yong Heng. Knock on wood.

Dont like yh recomend aw46 hydraulic oils? Like this as example

Pretty much covers your issues +

That is amazon USA. Its not avaiable in Europe.

This seems adequate:

That new oil looks OK. You'll need to get as much of the old stuff out as you can. As a minimum I would tilt the compressor toward the drain hole about 30 degrees and let it drain completely for 2+ hours. If you are in a hurry or want to do a thorough job you can take off the end plate and wipe with a clean rag. Just remember there is a chance the gasket could get damaged.
Do not overfill.

Btw, the oil I'm using is ISO46, shouldn't it be similar to that one?

Way i see it hydrolics take a beating high yemps, high loads, high pressure and there pumps aint cheap.

Now if Breathing air id go different for sure bit then again you pay that price in that lube.

If the manufacturer says aw46 use it for non breathing air if it busts ot guts using it well its on them not the excuse of you did not use our recomended oil.

Overall you use and do as you think best for you. 2 things regardless ots going to hold up and last you good service or its not.😉

I agree your oil meets the specs of the compressor. But maybe there is a compatibility issue that is easy to check with another oil. This is what I have used for the last year. Use it daily and have changed oil 3 times. First change was after about an hour of use. I ran mine unloaded for twenty minutes to help break in.

Well, went to triax website and look and behold:

"This product is NOT recommended for breathing air pumping compressors, oxygen compressors and LPG compressors fitted on natural gas pipelines."

It meets the spec but it is not reccomended. 🤣
Anyway, ordered the one I posted earlier. I'll post the results when it arrives.
