Jps,

That's pretty good shooting!

One thing that I seem to remember, was back a few years, there was a velocity cap of something around 525 feet per second, for NRA and ISSF 10 meter competition. After further review and inquiries, there seems to be no velocity limit for 10 meter air pistol. I researched this, because your velocity seemed a bit high at 780. Well, whatever works, so it's all good. All of my high end air pistols reccomend a velocity of 500-525. I would have to say that if you lowered your fps, you'd get many more shots, plus a lot quieter. Maybe better accuracy as well, because almost all air pistol 10 meter competition shooters, generally are around the 500 fps mark.

Great shooting, looking forward for more scores!!

Hi All,

Thought I'd try the other Izzy with the red dot this week to see if I'd do better than the one with the open sights.......

SAZ, I think you're costing yourself points. In Tgt #2, One of your 4's clearly cuts the 5 line so you get the higher score. Also your (4) 8's are all 9's, with one looking like a 10.

In Tgt #3, one of the 7's sure looks like it cut the 8 line.

In the absence of a gauge, you can "plug" your close calls by dropping a pellet thru the hole nose first and use the skirt to make a visual check.

SAZ,

I'm going to agree with Gwelo, the shot you have listed as a 4, should be a 5. All it has to do is BARELY touch the higher scoring line, yours clearly breaks it. I'll look at the rest of your targets and rescore, Gwelo has a good eye!!!

Keep the scores coming!!!!.

I won't be able to submit a score this week, have to try several different new lenses in my shooting glasses.

This was the first time shooting any scored targets since my days in the military competing for my expert marksman ribbons and the Distinguished Marksman medal. And the only air pistols I have ever had were the Crossman 1322 and the Beeman P17. Both great, but just fun to shoot, definitely not competitive in stock form. Back in December however I had the incredibly good fortune to win the Matt Dubber/Pyramyd Air Ataman AP16 giveaway they held to promote Pyramyd Air's new Custom Gun builder site. After many weeks of waiting for parts to come in and changing the color of the majority of the gun I finally recieved it yesterday evening. Tonight after work I shot a magazine through it to get it sighted in and was amazed at the accuracy of that thing right out of the box. I am really, really happy with this and I can see it is going to be really fun for small game and grouse hunting at the cabin.

These were all shot at 10 meters outdoors with open sights two hand with 18.13 grain JSB's. And it was 11 degrees outside. I shot 1 target and then came in to warm up and top off the gun. Here in Alaska there are no airgun groups or competitions, so this is pretty cool to be able to compete virtually for fun! Tom, I really appreciate you putting this together!
