Hate to ask a really dumb question, but out of the two targets you have available to download neither one has

A-5 or B-40 on the target or in the file name of the .pdf

Which one is A-5 and which one is B-40?

Reason being, I don't see those numbers anywhere on the targets.

One target has 3 bulls and the other has 15 bulls.

Are we suppose to list the kind of airgun used along with the caliber when we list the distance shot?

Sorry for the confusion, just trying to get it straight in my head.

Thanks

Ray

Ray,

The 2 targets are correct as posted above. The one handed pistol target is the B-40, which in the link, states as air pistol. The rifle target, that I denote as the A-5 target, is the target used for the other classes, it is.the smaller one. I apologize for the confusion, its just that in my competitive days, that's what I knew them as, they might've changed the denotation in years gone by.

Basically, the B-40 target is the first download, the A-5 is the second.

Yes, the A-5 is technically a rifle target , but with the parameters given above in the rules, a proper and challenging target.

And yes, you should state the caliber and the class you would want to shoot. If you don't know. I'll confirm, and put you in one. No matter what you want to shoot, we'll accommodate you.

Tom,

Thanks very much for setting this up.

One question about this rule: "ALL CLASSES EXCEPT ISSF/NRA, SHOOT 40 SHOTS...B-40 TARGET SHOT 10 SHOTS PER TARGET."

Does this mean that those of us submitting B-40 targets in 2 hands no magnification would submit 1 full page (10 shots at three targets) and another page with 10 shots at one target?

Thanks again

 Offhand,

Good point. Be a sin to waste paper. What you guys can do, if you want, you can shoot 15 on 2 bulls, and 10 on the other, to make the 40 shots on one paper. I think the spread might be enough not to make a mess of the target. If so, we can always go to the smaller target. It's all fun, so we can modify the rules/targets/number of shots, etc. We'll have to see what happens, we should be OK. If not, through whatever input I get, we can modify. The first 2 weeks, will be test weeks to see how we all do, and make changes. In the end, we'll figure it out..

Wow! I've been shooting an air pistol fairly regularly in my basement for several months -- but today I discovered that trying to shoot what is in effect a 40-shot group is (for me) extremely difficult! What a mental workout! Hats off to anyone who seriously competes in shooting sports.

I'll get my targets submitted before the deadline tomorrow but I'm going to give it another go (when I stop shaking).

Thanks again Tom for setting this up!!

Leo, Nation,

Every weeks deadline is Friday night at Midnight.

This entry can stay here, but please put entries in the unpinned post lower in the topics section. I would like to leave this for questions and rules/class inquiries.

Leo, 5 shots per target is fine, I'm going to leave that decision to the individual competitor. If it still too hard to score, we can change to the other target if need be. The first week or 2 I'll look for input, and scores, and make a decision. The first 2 weeks will be trial weeks, to see how it works out. I want it to be challenging, but want everyone to get the most out of the experience. I'm sure that some competitors might want to save paper, to some degree, so if we must go to another target, or alter the number of shots on a given target, we can do so.

The submission above by Leo G, is a perfect example of what your entry should look like, both from a target submission, as well as complete information of the class, distance, equipment used, etc.

Leo G has started us off, LETS GO guys and gals, get those entries in, and don't forget to put your results on the RESULTS thread!!!

So far 10 shots per target for me is getting hard to score. I will switch to 5 shots per target next week.

Regards,

Leo

You might try Kruger targets which are very high quality and don't tear like others. Think it's the paper/fibers or magic!

For those that print their own you might try a heavier paper. I found Georgia Pacific premium card stock at Walmart. It's 110# weight, comes in packs of 150 sheets of 8-1/2" x 11", don't recall that it was much more $ than standard, but much better as far as punching clean holes. Wadcutters are also a big help.

Jps,

I'm not a good tech type guy, so I hope this makes sense.

There should be some kind of setting, either on your computer/laptop/phone/printer that you can either increase or decrease the printed out size. Being that you do know the size of the B-40 target, you should be able to adjust the size of the printed target to fit.

If someone else can chime in and help, it would be appreciated.

Sergei,

I apologize for not seeing this post earlier, my bad.

These rules stated in this thread are for Airgun Nation fun online shoots. It's not formal, there are no awards or prizes. Just a bunch of guys wanting to shoot at 10 meters or less, regardless of what they have for equipment or space.

You'll be able to use your gun in this virtual "competition ", I'll turn no one away.

I plan on starting this up again within a few weeks, so stay tuned for an announcement on this thread. I'll start another post when announced.
