Hey guys, check out this review about the Vortex Diamondback HP 3-12x42 BDC Deadhold Reticle Scope. One of the best Scopes you can get for that money! You can use it for Hunting, shooting on a Shooting Range or Hunter Field Target. I show you the benefites and give you a view through the scope on different ranges: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSds2OkWLZU Have fun! Are you referring to UK style hunter class field target shooting or just general plinking? The reason I ask is that in the USA the hunter class shares the same course as the "other classes" and all classes need to shoot the same size killzones and distances.

"HFT-Shooting from 7-41m (8-45yards) it is perfect"
LOL....even though my scopes will "parallax correct" down to 10 yards/9.14 meters when set at 12x, the depth of field when focusing is so deep that any target past 30 yards gets a very sloppy rangefind making it difficult to determine the correct holdover. Another issue is the ability to separate a 3/8" diameter 10+ yard killzone from the "pellet splats" all around which can require extremely sharp focus at 12x. For my HFT shooting your definition isn't ever close to "perfect". The issue isn't simply a "sharp focus" by using low scope power but the need to have a depth of field shallow enough to do an accurate "scope rangefind" so the proper holdover can be determined. At closer distances wher the killzones are small a scope with crisp optics and shallow depth of field can determine the distances rather accurately out to 30 yards. With the US hunter class field target only hold over/under aiming is allowed unlike the other classes that allow the shooter to adjust the turrets so all aiming is done "cross hair on". Obviously the scope rangefind needs to be accurate enough to determine within a yard or so the exact distance to that 53 yard 1 1/2" killzone. It's generally considered that 24x is the minimum power to get a reasonably accurate scope rangefind past 45 yards and many US shooters use 32x plus for rangefinding. Even at those high magnifications it seems that side wheel range markings are often in 5 yard increments past 30 yards.........

From the AAFTA Handbook 2016......
http://www.aafta.org/Assets/handbook/2016/AAFTA_Handbook_2016.pdf
"B.Hit-zones shall be round in shape.Hit-zones sizesshallrangefrom 3/8" to 2". No fake hit-zones may appear anywhere on thetarget.
C.Targets shall not be closer than 10 yards nor farther than 55yards from the firing point."

Anywhoo....as mentioned previously, a scope that will parallax correct no closer than 30 yards at 12x is useless for me when shooting USA hunter class field target matches!
