Vortex Strike .25 testing results in the wind

I decided to buy some of these vortex strike pellets off amazon.

They are $8.99 and free prime delivery as of this posting. They are very dirty pellets and have lead shavings on them and in the container. The container arrives banged up as you see in the video. I shot one group of about 10 shots and went and examined them noticed it looks like they were keyholing so I lowered the speed some and started shooting again. Not sure final speed. I think around 850 or so fps. Its like 17 degree Fahrenheit outside right now and blowing so this probably wasn't the most ideal test. I think you can assume 1" groups with these at 35 yards at better conditions. Is it really worth your time to buy them though? probably not. Just stick to the jsb 25.39 unless you feel like experimenting and accuracy isn't so important.

Pictures of the tins as arrived.

tins and packaging

video showing the groups

Went back inside and put on chrony and fussed with them and got this average of 916. see attachment.

Buying pellets off Amazon is risky ,you are lucky the pellets were still in the tin . I ordered off Amazon and got an empty tin and loose pellets in a paded envelop , never again.

yeah, well I don't really recommend them or anything. This was more for science than anything else. I need to stay busy :) I wasn't so concern if they arrived banged up, I assumed they would.

Few years back, during pellet shortage, tried Vortex Strike .30 (48.6 grain) in FX MK3 Wildcat Sniper, dismal results. Holiday season 2022-23, picked up Vulcan 3 and Uragan 2 (700mm) in .30, recently tried leftover Vortex Strikes, dismal results. Found a use for them, though, leave my PCPs with full mags, minus one in chamber, after target work, load mags, last one a Vortex Strike, fire round into dirt, ready for gun rack. WM

Once upon a time the Hatsan pellets were from JSB dies (Vortex, not Vortex Strike). When they added the "Strike" to the name was when they stopped being made by JSB, I believe. Some of the worst pellets of I've ever tried! Alloy changed to a much harder compound & the accuracy was gone out the window. I still have some of the old Vortex & those are accurate as ever but NOT the "Strikes".
