Vulcan 1st Gen & 2nd Gen (Help pls)

Hi Guys, are there any visible differences between the Vulcan 1st and 2nd Gen guns? I heard that all the initial challenges in the 1st Gen were fixed in the 2nd Gen such as the pinging sound among other things. Planning to get a Vulcan and need a way to distinguish between the 1st and 2nd gen. It's a bit difficult to get Airguns where I stay. Once they are imported it's impossible to exchange them. Wanted to know the differences so I can ensure that the right one gets imported and I don't get stuck with the 1st gen.

Is there any visible difference or a particular serial number onwards that I need to specify before I order the gun ?
Thanks in advance.

"kris"the cocking bolt is a barrel instead of a ball that is the old design, look I would prefer the ball. performance wise not much difference, ok maybe the cone style baffles are an improvement. forget the depinger that's just a piece of tubing around the hammer spring.

you cant go wrong.
Thanks Kris for the help. I just want to ensure I get the latest one. It's difficult to get these Airguns where I stay. May as well get it right the first time.

As Kris said, the easiest way to distinguish the first gen from the rest is that the early ones have a ball shaped cocking knob instead of the barrel shaped knob on the later ones. The other difference is that the baffles were improved on the 2nd gen and help to reduce the report some over the original but these are not visible externally so you won't be able to tell unless you open the shroud and remove the baffles.

What all versions of the Vulcan have in common is an unusually loud twang from the hammer spring. The latest shipments has a small section of flexible jelly tubing applied on the hammer spring in an attempt to reduce the twang but it is not a good long-term fix because the tubing is too loose, slides around and gets worse with use. The best and easiest fix is to replace that tubing with a more snug fitting rubber grommet (that costs $1) and it significantly reduces the noise without affecting fps or accuracy.

Lastly, I noticed that the earlier Vulcans have a HST adjuster that needed a special tool/pliers to adjust (or remove in order to get access to the hammer spring as described above) whereas the later ones have a HST adjuster that fits a normal metric Allen wrench.

Hope that helps . . . I've had possession of about 5 Vulcans in both .22 and .25 calibers and those were the differences I noticed. And BTW, don't count on getting a stock like the one shown in the video above . . . most of the Vulcan stocks are very plain or, at best, only have a hint of figuring.

"Scott_MCT"The latest Vulcans are over here http://talontunes.com/shop/vulcan/

From what they are saying the ping noise is gone and pricing looks good. They are providing 4 mags and a case with the sell price.
Are my eyes deceiving me, or is Talon Tunes also the owner of TAG forum? Which means that Tony is buying/importing the Vulcans and exclusively selling/promoting them on his forum? Something doesn't smell right.

Forums have been sold ( or ad revenues whatever sold) very often in the last year, a new thing in airgun forums more or less. So????
The prices are lower at topgunairgun not that that means much but if "I" owned the rights to XXXXX I wouldn't have other dealers elling too much under what I "needed" to charge.
And really the only thing I know about the tag is the language prevents my allowing young folks to see it thus I skip that one also.

Airguns should be fun, accurate and fun ( with safety first naturally).
