So there was a guy a little while ago putting a FX bottle on a Uregan i think it was.

So i figured why not try the same on my Vulcan 3.

So got hold of a Off the shelf FX part, screwed that into my Vulcan 3, then put on the ALU bottle from my Maverick, and boom it just work.

There is however 1 issue, as there are no 1 way function in the FX part, when you unscrew the bottle you will bleed the plenum that way VS using the bleed screw on the Vulcan 3.

But i just swapped bottles back and forth, and it is quite fine this way, though i would prefer if someone made a part with a 1 way valve in it,,,, i have talked to Huma about this as i think it is very valid on the AGT vulcan 3, and i also think it would be usable on other rifles from the same part of the world as the AGT as they look to share a lot of parts.

Now i just need to unscrew the thread in the end of the AGT bottle and replace it with a FX part that will hold the air in the bottle, this way i have 3 bottles i can use on 2 rifles.

you can not screw the "blank " tuxing bottle on the fitting, the bottle of course ned to be fitted with its valved fitting so it hold air when unscrewed.

As seen in the pic the original ALU bottle from my FX fit, and i am sure the new carbon fiber bottle i have on the FX with a Best Fittings stainless valve in it will fit on the Vulcan too.

But you need the valve fitting in the bottle inside it is a O-ringe in a smaller thread hole that seal against the bottle adaptor on the rifle.
All bottles need a valve, well aside for the AGN ones as far as i know, but on FX rifles at least they have a valve on their bottles, and also cylinders for that matter, that will hold the air inside when you unscrew it.

So yeah your adapter on the rifle it have a smaller thread VS your Tuxing bottle, that is due to you not having the Bottle valve installed that hold the air in the bottle when it is not on a rifle, that will have the smaller thread that match your Bottle adaptor.
The outside / big thread on the bottle valve is M18.1.5 that will screw right into your bottle ( it is a standard thread even used on Huge bottles, mu new 9 L carbon fiber also have this thread.
There is a bigger thread for large dive bottles too, i can not remember its exact size but it is upwards of 25 mm / 1 " large but thats a whole other matter.

So as you got a raw bottle,,,,,, which is fine, but for FX at least you need to fit that with a fitting / valve system,

When you screw together the 2 parts first the seal O-ringe engage, then 1-2 turns more of the bottle and the end of the bottle adapter will hit the 1 way valve inside the bottle valve and then the air will get released to the rifle.
This is also why when you unscrew the bottle, there is a little puff of air ( very little ) CUZ the 1 way valve should close the pressure in the bottle, before you have unscrewed so much the seal O-ring clear the seal surface.

Now on the Vulcan 3 unscrewing my setup, as you have a huge plenum on the rifle side ( that whole pipe with the Regulator inside ) it is not just a small puff you get, so i unscrew until i hear air leaking a little, and then i loosen the bleed screw on the rifle.

Hang in there i will whip up a video of this right now.

Looking at the Huma PDF for that adapter, it look as if you are supposed to fill the bottle off the gun then, CUZ if there is a 1 way valve in the Huma adapter so you do not loose the pressure in the plenum pipe like i do, then of course you can not fill the bottle on the rifle as the 1 way valve in the Huma adapter will prevent that,
At least some of the drawings have a forster fitting put on too, which just confuse the hell out of me,
But if that is the case and you can not fill regularly, i assume if you remove that screw + O-ring you will be able to fill the bottle while on the rifle.

Yes it also say so.

This product is specifically designed to use the FX carbon bottle on the Vulcan III.
The adapter can be used in two configurations. Either with a valve mounted to be able to
change bottles in the field. Or without a valve.
When using the adapter with the valve mounted the FX bottle can no-longer be filled with the
fillprobe.
But our Quickfill adaptor for FX pressure bottle needs to be used to fill the bottles
separated from the rifle

There is also some confusing talk about standoffs for regulator, i think that is only if you use Humans regulator.
The PDF is a bit confusing i think, i would E-mail huma and say you want to feill the bottle on the rifle with the fill probe like normally, and what to do than.

It say 1 ways in red above but it only seem to explain the one way, where you can not fill on the rifle, i hope they dont mean the 2 way is to fill the bottle off the rifle as that would necessitate even more Huma parts that should be mentioned / sold alongside the listing for the Huma adapter.

But i am sure there is a way to disable that 1 way valve in the Huma adapter, i mean if nothing else just remove it all together.

The reason i first got Huma going with this was to make a adapter so you do not loose the pressure in the plenum pipe too, but of course as i soon found out if you do that with a 1 way valve in the adapter, well then you can not fill the bottle backwards thru the rifle using the fill probe, and so the only + would be if you are out in the woods, and need to change bottle, assuming they are filled off the rifle / on another rifle, well then with the huma adapter you do not loose all the air in the plenum pipe which is after all a lot of air to loose if you are out there in the woods.
