90 yards with ZAN 54gr (put wrong sleeve in pic). My worst groups were under a quarter size, best groups under a dime.

Factory tune.

I have tested at 75 M today, and both the 13.43 KO slugs and the MRD pellets ( shooting 500 mm - .177 ) did pretty well, having no problems hitting a pellet tin lid screwed to a fence post.

Wasent super accurate but i was also shooting off my toypod and the shoulder + i think the speed was a little on the low side, so generally pretty happy with the result, the wind was very light so i cant blame anything on that.

The eagle / falcon / whatever with a 4 foot or so wing span circling above the field for a while as i was shooting,,,,,, that was quite nice too

Hi All,

i have the Vulcan 3 but i went for .22 (5.5mm) i have some boxes of zan slugs 26g & 40g as i,m hoping mine will be a slugger main quarry is rabbits with few rats too, i have had the rifle sat here for well over a week as i,m waiting on my air tank to arrive i have fitted a thermion xp50 so the suspense is killing me, Had a 2 uragun 2s one in 2.5 and one in 3.0 high power 18 months ago what brill rifles these were will keep updated if anyone’s interested ?,

thanks

Well , I tried the Zans and some AVS slugs and the groupings were erratic. I'm like WTF? later on it turned out to be user error in that I failed to torque down the top pic rail after I switched the cocking lever. Secondly, earlier I had the scope mounts come loose as I failed to tighten them enough. UGH! rookie mistakes. Once I corrected it I was out of air. I will resume this in a week or two if weather permits.

What velocity did you get with those two slug weights?

Mine maxes out at 950fps with NSA 54.5gn. The valve is small for .30 cal and pretty shrouded. The port is a little small as well and whoever machined mine ran the tap for the lower plug well into the port above threading most of it. Maybe he wanted to try machining with his eyes closed. Every other part is well machined and I'll fix the other problems while modding for more power and to reduce the ping.

Yea, Umm, Kaylaindy, I watch your video 3x and you shot groups at 35 and 50 yards. Not that definitive to me, with respect. Not saying those slugs wont punch a hole at 75 yds and group nice at 100. I was starting at 75 yds and would have taken the best 2 and gone too a 100 if not for the mechanical issue. I'm going to slug the barrel see if in fact the zans may be too narrow in diameter. Either way additional range time is in order.

Heavy Impact- My 30 came to me shooting 1015 with the 44.75 JSB pellet and 965 with the 50g JSB. If I had to extrapolate it I'd think zan 54g would be 910 and 59g zan about 860. But I cant confirm until next week after gun is put back together and I get my tanks filled.

NOTE: Just saw uploaded video from kaylaindy shooting at 90 yards. I will see if I can get similar results.

54.5 can only reach 950 with the hammer spring at maximum preload. I feel coil bind just as the cocking lever reaches it's limit.

I've made a new hammer from phosphor bronze for the extra weight and gave it extra length so I can trim it to find weight that works best.

The valve and port will get work as well. I'm waiting for some new tooling to arrive tomorrow.
