Other Walther LG400 absorber not working properly?

My dilemma. My son competes 10m 3p air rifle. His LG400 alutec has been inconsistent for some time now. Finally found a few good videos and found the recoil absorber is not following the action back forward after reloading. Supposed to return via magnet from what I could see, but unfortunately it is not. I can slide it forward via a tooth pick, but after cycling the action it does not return forward. Basically it is not functioning . Any advice would be great!!

Walther has provided me with good service. I had them help on a LG30 Dominator, but my LG400 has never missed a beat. Good luck.

I resolved the problem, not exactly sure how but it's now working. The magnet was not catching the bolt when action was opening. Pulled the assembly out of the stock, then pulled the cap screw covering the absorber. I cleaned everything as good as I could and reassembles. Now it is working properly. Sounded much louder and is now consistent. Before shots were all over the place.
