N/A Want a 10 meter comp pistol

This is my group of 9m basement shooters. Top 2 are 1986 Daisy 777s with a late model AV 46 M at the bottom. Hard to beat the Daisy's in terms of fun, accuracy and price point. If I win the lottery I'll get a Steyr Evo 10 or comparable.

Seems that there's a lot of reasonably priced 10 meter pistol options available to choose from. 😃

With the long, cold Canadian winters I do a lot of casual indoor shooting so I've since invested in a couple of airguns to keep me entertained.

Years ago I lucked into a FWB 100 (SSP) that really impressed me, when I went shopping for a PCP 10 meter pistol I tried a FWB P8x and didn't look any further. It's not cheap but it will last forever and costed off, it's a really good investment.

I showed the P8x to a (non-shooting) friend and he wanted one. I warned him about the price and he thought it to be totally reasonable. He commented: What hobby/sport/activity could you get into for $2k and have one of the top of the line pieces of equipment? He had a good point. On a side bar, my friend lives in an apartment and shoots into a target trap on top of his TV. 😳

You don't need "10 meter airguns" or a lot of distance, 23 feet will be fun!

Cheers!

Just saw this IZH 46M in the classifieds. The title just says Baikal IZH so a search will probably miss it.
No affiliation, just passing it on.

@graycrait, I hear you! They are getting harder to find, that’s for sure. I have the Baikal and really enjoy it!

I’m intrigued by the AV Comp 10, AKA Snowpeak PP20. They sure look like a clone of the Steyr EVO pistol. It appears from pics that the Steyr optic mount will fit the barrel shroud of the PP20. Also looks like the Maple Custom Products scope mount will work in place of the rear sight. I might take a chance on one just to find out.

Just checked and the AV Comp 10 is back in stock at PA after a long wait. Maybe the Snowpeak will be available soon also.

RickH I too can relate to an interest in 10M Comp pistols. Not seriously, but I like to hit what I am aiming at. I’ve had a few Daisy 7x7‘s and still have a triple 7 but don’t shoot it often as my V10. I did a little work on the grip to make it more comfortable and though is a pain to load, like it a lot.
Just this week I received a Walther LP300. It did require an O ring in each tank (PITA) to seal the fill adapter. And cost a little more than what a nice boxed 777 will fetch but OMG! I can now see why these are worth the price. Fortunately, the grip fits me perfectly, and I already had the support equipment.

If I did not already have two I would jump on that one. That scope mount is probably worth more than $50 extra he is asking for the scope and mount. Personally I cannot imagine shooting mine with a scope. I like to shoot bullseye style so it is irons for me. Extra weight of a scope would make it too hard to hold for very long.

@jkingrph , you can get that scope mount where I got mine for $29.69 + shipping from B&H Photo:

I tried it on my 46M but I thought, "Why have a 10M pistol and then use an optic?" However, due to the fact I have a LNIB Daisy 717 with plastic sights and 2 LNIB Daisy 777s with great iron sights I put the mount on the 717 just for giggles and then put a little red dot on it. One day when the weather and wind become agreeable I will see how far out I can sling a 7gr .177 pellet accurately going at 360fps out of a Daisy pistol barrel.

@beerthief , I think about that AV 46M and say $500.00 is not bad. Then I think, "Maybe one day those Snowpeak PP20's will be back in stock some place where I can simply order one without pre-ordering or some other kind of rigamaroll." I only have 2 777s because they came as a pair for a price I personally couldn't turn down. Why I have 2 Notos's is another story entirely.

When I got interested in 10m rifle, having no idea what I was getting in to, I spent about $350 on a 2078A. Learned a lot over a season and very quickly realized that there are quite a few serious competitors who spent way more than I did and worked hard. I found a used Anschutz and still paid triple the price of my first gun but had a much better idea of what I wanted and needed. I want to get a good pistol that I can learn with and if I enjoy it I’ll spend the money needed to buy a better competitive gun. I want to avoid buying high end only to find I don’t enjoy it or don’t do it very well. I’m seeing a lot of good recommendations here and I appreciate it.

Not a comp pistol, but definitely the least expensive, accurate pistol out there has to be the Beeman P17. It's a very accurate SSP, with a nice trigger, just to get started punching holes. For $50 or less. Shoot good pellets for the best results. The RWS Basics are almost indistinguishable from the Match RWS R10's for the money.Screenshot_20250129_105442_DuckDuckGo.jpg
