"Rchr"Considering buying a portable bench rest "type" either a Dead Shot Chairpod or Dead shot Fieldpod? Any recommendations?
Dopends on the kind of shooting/hunting you do. Pros and Cons below.
1. Chairpod: perfect in cases where you have a spot picked out where you plan to sit and shoot. And where you aren't going to be moving around too much.
(+) Lighter weight, more portable and enables the shooter to sit and shoot.
(-) Takes time to set up. It's in smaller pieces and has to be set up before you can shoot. Not ideal in cases where you suddenly spot game. You won't have the time to set it up.
2. Fieldpod: perfect for the walk around and shoot kind of hunting.
(+) Easily set up, has a bubble level to prevent cant, can be used for standing, prone, sitting under a tree or a shaded spot, faster set up as compared to the chairpod
(-) Heavier than the chairpod, longer in length and not very easy to carry on your back
Both are excellent products, well engineered but for very different kinds of shooting in the field.
If you only plan on using it to zero your gun and shoot from one spot at the range or your backyard, get the ledsled. It keeps the gun stable and allows you to zero the gun.
