WARNING! DO NOT BUY THE HATSAN JET!!!

Wow, very sad state of affairs. I have two of these, a Jet 1 and 2. Absolutely no issues with either one, and no clipping with the Buck Rail moderator I'm using. Barrels on both are lined up as they should be. They are 20 yard guns at most, anything beyond that and the accuracy falls off drastically.

I was an early adopter of these, so maybe the QC fell off a cliff as time went on? I think they are great little 20 yard guns, but I'm very much aware I may have just gotten lucky with the ones I purchased.

Bummer to hear they are this bad off with the QC, but I'm also not surprised either. My Sortie Tact took a lot of fiddling to get it remotely useful, and my Blitz had an o-ring issue in the breech right out of the box. After I replaced that o-ring in the Blitz it's been great ever since, but that's another case where I'm sure I got lucky because I've seen nothing but issues with those as well.

Hatsan being Hatsan, what more can be said? Lol.

Maybe I got lucky with my Blitz as well. Wouldn’t take air from a compressor when I got it. But a trip to the paintball shop and a blast of air from their tank. Nothing but fun since. Love it.
Zero issues with the Hatsan Flash from day 1.
I will work through the issues with the Jet. Pretty sure a new crown on the barrel will resolve the biggest problem. And that’s the lack of accuracy.

Agreed!! Buy an Edgun, FX, Brocock, Daystate or something that’s high end to avoid the headaches of budget friendly guns. Nothing against budget guns but y’all know they’re work.
I typically only have more high end big bores. This jet is my first caliber under .357
I wanted a good plinker for pheasant and punching paper ect.... I had to do a lot of modifications to get a half decent group. I basically shaved down the top rail flat to get a good mouting area for my red dot. After some tweaking, it's shoots just alright. It still needs barrel work for sure. The pellet pusher was out of wack too. The crown is just mangled. I guess I got what I paid for.

mine looked like that when i got it,
recrowned and it worked wonders.

the problem on the jet is,
not even the adapter for the moderator lines up with the barrel,
so no matter what you try it will clip.
and mine being .25 there was even less margin for error.

i had to sand the pseudo shroud,
and shim the bottom of the barrel to push it up,
then with the barrel off and the shroud in place,
i looked through the breech end and rotated the moderator till it had a straight path through.

it drills bullseyes now,
with a sightmark micro reflex sight on it,
no starlings in my yard have been missed since i fixed it lol
mine is having the same issue barrel sits low inside the barrel shroud i thought of doing the same thing what did you use to open it up ?

Having bought a jet 2 during the midway closeout sale I must say that I concur. Initially mine would clip pellets with any moderator that I used. After carefully examining the muzzle I realized that there was a casting line on the barrel surround that was causing the moderators to cant slightly. I fixed this by overtightening the moderator which had the effect of breaking off the casting swarth. I overtightened it rather than filing because I was still contemplating returning it.

The other significant issue it has is that the two picatinny rails on the breach do not line up, with the rear one being about 1/16” lower than the front. So if you mount a scope using a two piece mount you will be lucky to be able zero it without shimming it drastically.

Another thing that is a design flaw IMO is the size and shape of the molded grip. I admittedly have large hands, but I’m no Shaq and I cannot grip it without my little finger being outside the grip.

All in all, it’s a gun I wouldn’t recommend unless you can get a tested one for under $100.

that crown looks awful, like the gun was stored outside and rusted and then wire brushed off.. hard to imagine it in a new working gun..
I wonder what kind of low grade steel that is.. I shortened the barrel on my notos and it turned out really good.. shoots tight groups..
I could recrown it in my lathe for you,if you want to pay the shipping.. but I honestly don't know if it is just a poor finish or really porus steel..
if you want me to recrown it, just PM me.. it's a hobby for me.. not a business.

it’s crappy steel. i’ve had my share of hatsan customer service(or lack of it). they use mild steel on a lot of internals and some even have plastic trigger housings lol. there are so many hats and on amazon and ebay because nobody wants them.

That's funny right there!

Not sure what inspired this tirade but I bought a jet when midway was closing them out and mine shot 5MOA out of the box.

I sent it back immediately!

But then again, I have "a 1500 airgun", darn yuppie haters....

Interesting. Not a single capital letter or any punctuation.
Modern day time management I imagine. I need to get with the program. Maybe after I shoot my AAA Paradigm .30 a bit.

Paying good money for a junk gun tends to make you hate a little. If you don't have a lot to spend and you don't want a POS then get a Notos.
