WARNING! Problem with ebay seller and 30MPA Compressor

Hi Guys,

Thought I would post up a warning to all of you in case you were looking to buy a compressor from ebay. Decided to buy a compressor from ebay, here's the item

As you can see by the email chain below, problems from the start. Just got it yesterday, ran for 10 seconds and it shut off and would not restart. It's electrical.

Additionally as some have pointed out, this is NOT a branded Yong Heng unit, looks like it though.

Spread the word around, let everyone know. He probably has other user ID's on ebay as well selling the same unit.

As you can see below by our email chain, I believe you shipped me the broken one you had in stock to placate me. I have now attached the images as you requested.

As stated, the machine turned on for 10 seconds and shut off. It will not run nor will it restart. It is an electrical problem.

Please refund my money immediately. If you want this broken machine back, please send a call tag at your expense.

I will not mess around with you further and will take other action. Govern yourself accordingly.

You are lying to me, again.

The tracking number was just a label created with UPS, NOT fedex.
Additionally UPS shows the label was created, NOT shipped.
Additionally you said it was broken and could not ship.

1. You offered it on ebay as in stock.
2. You showed it shipped but did not provide me with a tracking number
3. You then sent me an email that said it was broken and could not ship
4. You then sent me a tracking number that was created, but not shipped.
5. It has still not been shipped.

I am now going to involve ebay and paypal in this transaction.

REFUND MY MONEY IMMEDIATELY, I will not deal with people being untruthful.

Those switches are junk. Machine screw an electrical box on the top and replace the switch with a commercial grade 30amp electric motor switch from Lowes. Run #12 wire from a wall plug to the box/switch then from the switch to the motor wires. Make sure you know which wire is neutral and which wire is hot. Mine was blue hot, brown neutral, yellow with green stripe ground. You can look up how to make your plug wire online. Much better set up all around for a few dollars and a relatively small amount of time. 
 
This is becoming an ordeal with this seller. All I want to do is send it back and get one that works. As above it might be the switch and wiring, however as I bought it new I should not have to fix it before I even use it.

The seller now states that it is a new unit when clearly in his emails he did not have one in stock at the time.

I am waiting for a resolution. Fortunately I have a 100 CF scuba tank that I use.
 
I have the same pump from the same seller. The same thing that happened to you happened to me. There is a re-settable fuse that is a black push button under the moister trap screw. Try resetting it and switch it back on. Don't forget to turn on the water pump too. 
The switch on mine is trash and it stays on and lit whichever way the switch is flipped. I think that I might have my father wire up a switch from Lowes; he's the electrical guy.
 
Ebay has a case open now and thus far he has not responded at all. According to them, if he does not reply by tonight, they will refund me. Whether he sends a label, that's another story. If they tell me I can keep it, then I will spend the money to get it fixed. Looking thru the other thread here, rods and pistons also see problems.

I just wanted a little convenience in case the tank went down and the scuba shop could not refill it right away, plus that 100 CF tank is steel and heavy.
 
Please let us know how/if the unit works. If it's just a cheap switch, I'd say fix it and use it. 

The selection of such compressors is limited and when I bought a Chinese outboard, it stopped working and they asked me to send them a video. I explained that won't show them anything except a non-working motor. They would't refund or fix. They wanted to send me parts for repair. But I didn't know what was not working. Chinese equip. is dirt cheap but you get what you get. Sometimes it works, sometimes it just doesn't.
