This the part i was talking about that was bothersome to me . Not smooth lever action . You have to pull back then push forward then pull back slightly and then down every single time you want to cycle the action. Also if you look at bullfrogs review you will here him tell you as he is shooting at 100 yards that if you pull the barrel apart you will have a poi shift. on 100 yards i can pull the barrel off on a impact and put it back in with absolutely no poi change. To answer another question that was asked by centercut . Tensioned barrel is the barrel has a c-clip holding at the breach and then between that and the shroud and moderator nut it is tightened and held together. Jim with warp does answer the phone when you call but I have called at least three times trying to give him over 1800-1900$ trying to buy one of these warp since august and keep getting the run around about them not having one or he will get one ready ect..... but I'm not going to beg someone to take my money I just gave up and got an impact and love the looks, feel and adjustment. Ya a gun is a tool but it doesn't have to look like one, or feel like one with back and forth clunky action looks like a sore thumb sticking out where the bolt is . A car is a tool to . get from point a to b, but come on for the money we are spending on a pellet gun in this price range it should also look like and drive and feel like a porche.

The tensioned barrel system keeps the barrel under a tension drastically reducing the barrel harmonics helping with accuracy and POI shifts from bumps to the gun. Keeps things very repeatable. How this works is there's a C clip on the breech end and holds the barrel there and the barrels are threaded and there is a tensioner on the end of the shroud that you screw the shroud on and it tightens up against the breech and pulls on the barrel putting it under tension. 

hvack, if you have zero POI shift at 100yds from your impact that's great but I find that very hard to believe as I've heard of others having POI shifts from taking barrels off and putting them back on on impacts but maybe yours is different or there's other reasons for the shifts. I really don't know. I haven't had one in person. But I tore down my WARP to bare bones put it back together and didn't even resight it in and shot 8 pigeons in a row at 50yds. No shift in POI from what I saw.

This gun is anything but clunky. The bolt is the smoothest bolt ive ever felt and is a very natural movement. Also looks is very much an opinion and I'm glad you enjoy your Impact. The impact to me looks very delicate and just odd but that's also an opinion and only matters to me. I love the looks of the WARP. Looks are a matter of opinion only.

I just don't see why folks wanna come to someone's thread and try to bash on that persons new airgun.
This is not a vs thread that I know of or even a discussion between 2 different airgun its a HEY GUYS LOOK AT MY NEW TOY THAT IM THRILLED WITH thread.
I suggest if don't have something kind to say about it just don't say anything at all or start you a vs thread and argue till your hearts content.

I would probably have a lot of positive things to say if they wouldn't have put me off and just took my money . lol Then I would have gotten one and be bragging about it as well . :) Like I said in the earlier post . I have been trying for months to buy one of these guns, Made several calls, and talked to Jim, have been given the run around and just put off over and over, I'M NOT going to BEG someone to take my money !

I’ve had nothing but 100% communication with Jim at WAR. He isn’t active on this forum but does post on others. He always updates his forum on when he’s going to be closed and out of town.

I knew exactly what I wanted, called him and let him know I would be sending a deposit to get the work started. Within a day he responded back with my sales order and a message. We didn’t speak until he called to let me know my rig was done and he would be sending the final invoice. Simple as that. I ordered my rifle, patiently waited, payed for it and received it. 
Jim is easy to talk to and I’m sure he would gladly take anyone’s money for an order.

Yeah, I don't know Jim personally but he has always responded to my emails, sending price lists and other information when I requested it. Other individuals may have had a different experience, and there may have been a transition period as ownership switched around, but it seems to me that things are in order. I'm eager to hear how the guns work out in the long run.

All is good , he kept telling me to wait every time I called I kept telling him that I wanted a warp and told him what caliber. He told me in august to wait till mid september because he was going on vacation soon , then when I call him in september he said "he would have more stock in beginning of october", that he would call me . Well this month is just about over. NO CALL and I've called him as much or more than i'm going to. There loss I have the gun for me . I swear to this being true , actually wish it wasn't . But like I said not going to beg someone to take my money. I am glad it went good for everyone else and that this is typically not the case, but it definitely was for me.

Sucks to hear that hvack, definitely out of the norm for Jim but hey if you got the gun for you that's all that matters! :) For me as well never had any issues with communication. He's definitely been busy with them as he was almost caught up alittle while ago and now has gotten quite a few more orders making the wait about 3 weeks. I ordered through his website and by the next day sent me an email asking what I all wanted and then sent an invoice for all the extras that I wanted when it was done.

hvack, Sorry to hear about your problems getting a gun from Jim. Wow, I met Jim at the NC Airgun show back in 2014 and ordered one of his Razor sidewheels that he had to custom make to fit my Mamba Lite. Then last year I was in contact with him about some possible barrel work. Jim has always been prompt and accessible with all my questions via emails?
I was thinking maybe Jim was at the NC Airgun Show in Hickory this past Saturday? I was there shooting a FT match and didn't really notice if he had a table set up or not? I think he did though, just hate to swear to it. Man the logistics of planning and getting all your gear to a show like that will take something out of you? Heck Joe Brancato was even there all the way from California and right after his showing at the EBR as well? Would hate to make that trip ;-)

Anyway just a thought, if he was at the show I'm sure he had a lot on his plate this month. I hope you do manage to get one of his fine guns one day. Heck I hope I even manage trying my luck at getting one some day!

Dillon, I'm ready for some more of your in depth reviews. You always inspire us to part with our money on these fine guns. It's fun being an enabler ain't it ;-)

One thing I’ve noticed that is worth mentioning, I’ve shot my Flex almost every day since I’ve had it with either the .22 or .25 barrel. I’m right at 1,000 pellets so far and the day to day consistency is astonishing. My Daystate rifles have a tendency to show a very slight shift in POI every so often and I have to adjust the turrets. I have had absolutely 0 change in POI from day to day with the flex. The only thing I can think of is the design eliminates the wood stock / action interface like the conventional Airguns have. In powder burners, chassis systems are taking the place of conventional wood and fiberglass stocks for this reason. It eliminates one more variable that can possibly induce changes to your system. The design and looks arnt for everyone but it’s without a doubt an intelligent design. 

Something i I just thought of today after shooting.

The tensioning of the barrel doesn't really have much to do with what happens when you remove or replace a barrel. I can pull the barrel off my Marauders or Condor and they won't be shooting the same POI when I put them back. Nor to I own any precision firearm that will keep POI at 100 yards (or MOA) after pulling the barrel off and putting it back on. I'd have to see an Impact doing it to believe it. I can believe that POI could be pretty close when a barrel is removed and put back. And I can accept without proof that you may have experienced a perfect return to POI at 100 yards as a random fluke. But color me skeptical that any gun of any sort will consistently go back to perfect POI at 100 yards every time a person pulls the barrel off and on. I'll gladly eat crow, but I'm going to have to see it on video or else to me its just hearsay. I've had my share of magical moments with my Marauders where I had super magic tunes that I could never repeat. Once I had a 24 shot 65fpe tune that I thought was the cat's meow. Until I lost it and it didn't come back again no matter what I tried. Did I have some really awesome variables that I never ID'ed giving me that? Or was my chrony acting up that day? Didn't make me a liar and it doesn't make you one either. But often I would draw conclusions based on incomplete data that wasn't repeatable. I'd need to see zero 100 yard POI shift repeated over and over again to accept it. 

Now as for untensioning and retensioning the barrel of the Flex, yes, if you untension the barrel and tension it back you can change the POI because you are changing the barrel harmonics. In real world use, where that comes up as an issue is removing the first generation LDC and accidentally untensioning the barrel while unscrewing the LDC, as on the older guns the barrel tensioner and the suppressor are two different units and it was possible to accidentally un twist the tensioner while untwisting the LDC.

New LDCs function differently. They are made to be permanently attached to the gun. When its time to store the gun, the baffles are removed and the body of the LDC is slid backwards onto the shroud. Therefore the barrel is never untensioned. Once you have it tensioned to your liking, you just leave it set and you then move the LDC in and out as needed.

Also, untensioning and retensioning the barrel is a different circumstance than just using the gun day-to-day. If the barrel is left tensioned, it doesn't shift POI, unlike my Marauders that can shift POI if they are leaned up in a corner and the barrels are not properly free-floated from the breech. 

I just upgraded my Flex to current gen specs, except that I kept my 1 stage trigger and my 17 inch barrel. I'll do a follow up video review after I've had time to digest the changes to the gun.

This was on a windy day with a scope cam and three barrel mount dismounts .
I know the warp is a hell of a gun, and I may still try to get one next year, but with the way the barrel works there is no comparison .
The impact with the notch in the barrel and design of the rifle was meant to be taken down , the warp /flex rifles not as much. 
This video was done by the moderator I believe so try this with the warp/ flex in the wind with a scope cam and don't dope for the wind like he did and no re zeroing . lol no way the warp or flex will do this LOL :)

We may not be agreeing on what constitutes "zero POI shift." 

Zero POI to me means that 1) your .30 should be shooting in the same hole at 50 yards, with groups of 7-10 no larger than between a dime and a nickel and 2) you can take the barrel off and put it back on and your POI never shifts from that original dime-nickel sized group during any shot. I do not believe any gun can do that. 

No disrespect to Michael. If zero POI is defined as stringently as I am defining, there was in fact a shift in POI between his groups, although the groups did overlap in the middle. That was low POI shift as opposed to a zero POI, as I mentioned I can most certainly believe guns can do. And those three groups were at 50 yards if I am not mistaken.

If zero POI means some slight variance on impact is allowed off our hypothetical dime/nicked-sized 50 yard group, then I'd say Michael proved that was possible with his Impact, and I'd say other guns can probably do it to. My Flex may do it. I don't know. But I expect to be able to drive nails at 50 yards, so I measure each POI change by the literal pellet impact. Really each pellet should be going in the hole of the proceeding pellet with only the slightest variance (in other words, most of the body of the previous pellet should be going into the hole of the preceding pellet).

I followed your link to the original thread and video. Funny, in reading your comments it didn't seem like you were all that impressed with the results of the Impact test the first time. Now you're pretty high on the whole thing. You also seem pretty sure the WARP can't produce similar results as those shown in the video...based on what? 

Here's the real issue with your POI concern...as the moderator mentioned in his video, there really isn't any way to measure possible "POI shifts" unless you conduct the test under ideal (indoor, vise rest, etc.) conditions. Clearly the Impact in the video was not shooting to the same exact POI--but was that because of the barrel change, or because of a change in shooting conditions? At best I think you can say the gun shoots in the same general area, but you can't be sure that it is shooting to the same POI (or not) unless you rule out all other variable besides barrel change.

Honestly, I'm not sure what the big deal is with a possible minor POI shift. I would suspect most people would re-zero their gun just as a precaution anyway.

So I had time to take the .30 out today. Took it hunting but no luck as I guess it was too early for most animals to be out and about lol. Anyways while there I decided to set up some targets at 75yds (ended up being 77yds lasered) and 100yds and a can of soda at 125yds. As you can see I didn't really have the best rest or setup lol my feet were on top of the tool box while prone. 

Details on the gun are WARP COBRA .30 tuned at 820fps with JSB 44.75gr. Scope is SWFA SS 10x42 Mil-quad with Medium SWFA rings and a SWFA bubble level. Sighted in at 55yds. At 75yds I had a 1.5 Mildot holdover and 100yds was 4 Mildots. UTG 360 Recon bipod and a rubber butt pad and cheek riser on the stock. Gun likes a firm hold. I only have about 60 shots through it (in .30) which included these shots today and I'm shooting it this accurately! 39" long and 9lbs scoped! I damaged my smaller bottle being stupid and putting it on the floor in my truck unknowingly putting it on some sharp tools like screwdrivers etc and driving down my dirt road chunked a piece of the protective layer so replaced it with a Talon Tunes bottle. Like the extra shot count now in .30 anyways. I'm more than impressed with this gun being a compact hunting rifle and being able to shoot it as accurate as I can. Also keep in mind I'm a hunter not a target shooter so this thrills me!

77yd target 5 shots just for a group and the 5 targets with one shot each once I got the rough holdover. I let my hold loose for the top right shot making the shot go off target. Learned that at 55yds that opened groups from nice and tight to 1.5"-2".

Thanks for sharing with us Dillon. I think your Warp, looks even better with the carbon fiber fiber bottle and it looked damned fine to start with. Very respectable groups too. Lookin' kinda cold where you're at with that picture of you holding the can with gloved hand ;-)
Great idea to shoot prone out of the back of the truck. You could have even turned the truck 90 degrees and shot off the tailgate using it as a portable bench if you had brought a stool.
