Was just shooting my Prod at 25 yds,has a bugbuster scope on it...

Two mags, every pellet touching bullseye...I am thinking did I get lucky with this Prod or is that typical of them?I was also thinking wow this Prod is as accurate as my 1720 ,so then shot my 1720....well .22 vs..177 holes... close, but 1720 gets the nod....what fun ...shooting pistols that are accurate and not too fussy.

Yep,these are keepers for sure...and what great deals I got on them.....remember Crosman Christmas sells....

Boscoebrea one of my favorites, and was my first PCP. I've found it to be a great backyard AG with it's low noise and power. Sometimes you just don't need 30 fpe and over. It will also take a regular sized Predator pellet in it's mag. I've had mine since 2014 and it has preformed without any issues. I've read where others have not had good accuracy with theirs so maybe we were both lucky and each got a good shooter. It will also shoot a Crosman Premier (CP) about as good as anything.

I love my Prod I bought it about a year after it came out and the accuracy was ok with fts pellets not so good with others but the more I shot/cleaned/polished it it got better

I have put 4 chps in the same hole at 23 yds the fith one was almost touching. I keep looking at getting a new compact pcp and then I look at my Prod and wonder why.

It wears a 6x bug buster and AR stock with after market laminated grips. I don't get on with my 1720 though.

You guys almost made order one of these. I had the order forum filled out. But got off the page. I have 3 .177 rifles Huntsman, Wolverine, and a AA S400 all of them are Long! I really think I would like a compact rifle, but would I use it. I have a 1701 and a 1720 both are accurate and wear a red dot. I shoot the 1720 more shooting like a handgun anything out to 25 yards isn't safe. But its a little loud. I like the pictures I see of the AR stock. But is it wise to go into a P-Rod purchase planning to spend more money on the pistol? After adding more money its still a p-rod. I also hear some say buying a p-rod is a gamble, some are good some are not. However its only a few hundred bucks. I also think about a Taipan but if it doesn't fit my desire I spent 4-5 times the money. I hate reselling. I end up with a room full of guns I don't shoot. I see guys that buy a gun and sell them the same day. They are my heroes.

Morning rant over, Jim

My Prod is in a Corcoran carbine stock, they are beautiful and somehow brings out the best in that pistol, course now it is a little carbine,I am thinking to myself I don't need no bullpup....this is a sweet shooter...and still a lot less than a Taipan...that stock can also fit the 1720,but I want multi shot capabilities....do some research it just may become your next pistol that can also become a carbine and back again....

I do not think the Prod gets enough credit...it is so versatile....

Have not shot my custom PROD yet, lol!

Mine is a bare barrel with no shroud.

I recently ordered a 16" LW .22 caliber to fit my PROD so I can install my "pickles".

It is threaded, the barrel, and has a larger O.D. than the OEM barrel--have no idea how large the O.D. is though, lol!

I hope the maker (a Mod from another AG forum) can get back to me re the O.D.

Should be more solid and accurate 💪

Was also hoping Mr. Don Cothran could make me a stainless custom PROD tube w/o a gauge hole but he is still busy--needs to do several runs too to mitigate his machining cost.

I may interested in a longer air tube as well. What would the cost be if there were enough for a run?

Keith

Just talked to Mr. Cothran an hour ago.

I paid for a stainless 2260 PCP tube (around $76 shipped) but he will be sending me an exact 16" (not 16 and 5/8 like the 2260 specs) version to fit the PROD.

I specified for the exacting tube length so I can mount my threaded 16" LW unshrouded barrel with "pickle" attachment sans issues.

Give him a call so he can set you right, sir.

He has been mighty busy because he had to do repairs on his machines-----now done 😁

Currently, he is doing a custom breech and motorcycle parts for some guys but will work on my order next week.

I have always loved his work ☝️

When I get his tube, I will be sending out my PROD breech for plating.

Have always had this thing for silver guns, lol!

Actually, I did send out some AG and rimfire parts to CCR Refinishing for Nikote and nickel-boron plating when they had their spring sale (30% off).

They said it takes about 4 weeks.

I am really curious how they would look like.

Some of the parts I have sent were stainless, as they are not really scratch-proof.

Plating will make them highly-resistant to scuffs, scratches, and with added lubricity to boot.

My guns are all in showroom condition, and I like looking at them and seldom use them.

Sorry for the OT ✌️

Sounds like my knife collection, though I do have some I use.

Ain't that the truth, sir!

The LW barrel for the PROD was shipped today; leade work, LDC thread, and target crown done all for a whooping $83!

Yes, $83 which is super cheap in my book 👀

The venerable gent offered me a TJ, a LW, and an OEM MROD converted to a PROD barrel, and after a few inquiries, I chose the LW.

The Exclusive stock from Thailand seems to be very well-made.

The one w/o a forearm costs about $220 shipped to the US:

I wonder what that black add-on on the bottom grip is made of?

I hope it is not rubber, as it would cheapen the whole shebang.

Mr. Vernon Austin makes very nice grips for the 22xx/13xx but he only does 13xx forearms (none for the 22xx) and no full butt stocks.

Got a couple of his creations and I have been very impressed of the fit and quality.

He uses a CNC, hence very precise.

The finish on his laminates is matte and Tung-oiled.

Was going to refinish them with Rottenstone and Renaissance wax but it grew on me, as they don't show thumb prints.
