For fun I shot two H&N Rabbit Mag II 25.31gr and two Crosman HP 14.3gr. Using the same tune as above I got 717fps on the H&N and 910fps on the Crosman.

My HS adjustment only turns in 4.25 and not 5.5. I'm giving it a fair amount of torque. To be honest, I'm a bit apprehensive in turning it harder in fear I'll break something.

I've been told some of the Avenger have stiff spots in the hammer spring adjustment but that it will go 5.5. I'm not sure Jagski, be careful or call PA.. Good luck buddy.

I'm new to this forum, yet I want to share some observations on the Avenger .22. It is the most accurate airgun I've ever used. If the gun sits idle for a period longer than a few hours the regulator pressure creeps up and needs to be fired 3 times to settle into it's setting again. Accuracy is affected for those 3 shots, but returns to "normal" on the 4th shot. I intend to try some other configurations on the regulator, and hope that this is just a quirk at 1800 psi. My barrel shroud was slightly bent, so pellets were clipped with a moderator. No problem if you don't have a moderator installed. I've enjoyed the discovery process. This is an amazing airgun.

My Avenger in .25(my first PCP), seems to shoot different pellets better at different temperatures. In the cool of the morning here in Ohio it stacks the JSB EXACT Kings, by mid day it's doing the same with the Hades and exact King Heavies but the Exact Kings group has opened up slightly Is this normal? Any ideas on helping me find that all around accurate pellet. My regulator is set at 2500 and my hammer spring is about 4.5 turns in. Thanks for any advice.

My .22 Avenger likes lower velocities for the best accuracy. I use an FX chronograph to confirm a very personal "sweet spot" of about 850 feet per second for lighter wt pellets, and 850 - 900 feet per second for heavies. The best video I've found for my .22 could be very helpful to get familiar with the essentials of pressure and hammer spring adjustments. Thanks I'll check it out now, I've o my got less than 500 rds through it,don't know if that makes A difference like it does in springers. But it seems to be settling down to the Hades, at the time of this comment. Lol thanks again.

The Avenger is remarkably tolerant of using different pellets. It takes a few shots for it settle into it's behavior related to new ammo. I think all barrels need the breaking-in period you write about. This airgun, and the means for making it fully charged with air, is a pastime. I expected it to perform as all the reviewers experienced it. It has some quirky (at least to me) issues with the regulated pressure creeping upward between shots. It's surprising that accuracy can be affected as much as it is with such small changes. So far I'm learning that there is a balance that comes with personal "tuning." For consistency I pause for about 15 seconds between shots, to allow the regulator to stabilize. I haven't confirmed that my other pcp airguns have a similar pattern with the velocity of the first few shots being higher, after an extended time of inactivity. With the FX chronometer it's easy to measure the velocity for comparison. It's stuff like this that makes the quest for accuracy challenging and entertaining. The Avenger is a tinkerer's delight.

Don't force it!!! You will regret the results. When it gets to the end you can feel it, and I believe you have felt it.
If in doubt, back it off to "zero" and retighten it again. Do this three or four times to loosen up the works, but never, ever force it past its point of "hand-tight resistance".

Hmm I asked the guys at Pyramid and they said the Marauder mags won't work, pointed me to the cheaper Seneca ones. Has anyone been finding the Marauder mags not only work but remain reliable in the Avenger?

Yeah, I've already read a number of complaints about them in various places, so I'd be happy to buy some better ones if that all works out long-term. Maybe Amazon, for easy returns.

New England Airguns was the only place I found, but that was as of 9/1, and they may have gotten a flood of orders.

Was looking at the gamo urban, but when I watched Steve's review on the avenger my mind was changed. 9/15 can't come soon enough. Being new to PCPs, I'm beyond excited.
