We will never be satisfied.

Emu,

I'm a shooter and not a "tinkerer" and I know that the "dark side" of pcps is just that. Pcps have taken shooting airguns to another level because of "high pressure air" and just like water, if there's a leak, water and air will find it. I will not complain about this sport that I've gone to love and appreciate because there's "no time like trigger time" and airguns allow me to do that anytime the itch has to be scratched. Yes, I own leakers but now that I have the time to find out what makes them work, makes mw happy. When I can hit what I'm shooting at makes me happier when I do my part, you won't hear me complaining.

I'm a tinkerer and a shooter. I tinker when it makes sense. Like, I have a Gen 1 Impact. As upgrades came up, I added them. Adding a couple more this week. In this case, it brings the gun up to date (except the regulator). Makes it more efficient and to me, more enjoyable to shoot. I do enjoy the tinkering almost as much as the shooting. All part of the sport.

I don't complain about accurate enough because now I can tinker (Marauders). I have become bored with my Impact II because there is nothing to tinker with on it due to being so consistently accurate without any leaks. My Slayer is the most boring of all. To take up the slack I cast pellets and/or slugs for each, which gives me something else to tinker with and adds an additional challenge to my sport/hobby. Currently thinking about adding another airgun, but don't really have a need for another one.

My current guns were getting too d@mned accurate as my shooting improves.

So in the last couple of weeks I have had to purchase some less expensive guns, which I can only hope are not as accurate.😉 Benjamin Cayden, Beeman Underlever, AV Avenger.

And anyway, I feel it is my duty to try some less expensive guns to see what I can recommend, since I am hooking so many of my buddies on PCP air rifles. They try my 'demo' Crown (.22/38mm barrel) and get hooked. But I need something which I can recommend to them which doesn't cost 2 grand!

I think that is part of the reason the impact is so popular. It has so many adjustments and configurations. So easy to mess up if you do not know what you are doing and so many possible products to improve it. And thankfully so many members here to help you with your issues as they have gone thru the same process. Every time I get it shooting perfect I get bored and decide to try another configuration with another liner, a different look, or different length barrel or caliber. it just does not end with this gun.

I just came in from finally shooting some .25 34gr cast I have never tested yet. I was testing them with the Marauder with GM with choke cut off. They started out like a shotgun and clearly were tumbling. I tried them at different head sizes and speeds, and after dodging many rain drops, got them to start grouping fairly decent. So, now I have more tinkering to do to fine tune both and try the other GM choked barrel I have...A new challenge to bring the Marauder back to life with some casts pellets. It's fine with JSBs, but who wants to shoot those, LOL. Anyways...No longer bored with a challenge to look forward to...Once the deck work is finished, LOL.
