Other Webley Hurricane

I picked up a Webley Hurricane with no scope and mount but it had iron sights. No box. Did some research and it looks like they came with a scope and mount in the box. My question is did they all come with a scope and mount?

I used to drool over them years ago (ended up with a Tempest instead), and never saw one with a scope. I'm very certain that some, if not most, came with (only) iron sights.

in the old Beeman catalog it states that the scope mount comes with the pistol but not the scope

I think the original scope mount are not very harmonic on this pistol so to say. It is looking a bit odd with that rear over hang.
Mounting a picatinny, and attach a red dot is a more balanced set up I think. And it definitely gives you a better result than the iron sights. At least for me.

Yes, Hurricanes all came with the mount, but no scope. It's plastic and attaches with the rear sight screws.

You simply replace the rear sight with a picatinny rail (search the net) and mount a red dot (search the net) on it. In my case I had to drill an extra hole through the rail to match one of the original shrew holes. I can`t remember now, but I THINK I used the original sight shrews when fasten the pic.rail.
Tip: Be exact when drilling through the rail, or the rail will be mounted inaccurate. And make room for the shrew head. A pillar drill will be necessary.
