Webley Patriot?

The 25 is worth what the other calibers are worth. Probably a smaller crowd with interest but still worth the same. IMHO. The $600 one is worth it. Maybe more on eBay but minus the fees your back at $500-$600.
Thanks for the reply Bear.
It's at a gunshop about 2 hours away. I am contemplating to trade one of my 22LRs for it. (Maybe adding some "boot" as they say in WV).
I don't need 2 air rifles (Just bought one for plinking) but the thoughts of a heavier hitter for outdoor/hunting use is pretty tempting.

Now. Why didnt u say you needed a little enticement ?

25 cal is worth more than the .177 & .22 cal.
Smh.

They're really nice guns.. pic of my Beeman big bear.

I own 2 Kodiaks in .25 caliber. Both have deep dark bluing and are built to last lifetimes. One is a Spring piston version. The Beeman-ised version came with a Beech stock with an American style. Webley airguns didn't skimp when they produced the Patriot rifle. The Walnut stock was a nice touch....I wish Beeman had done so.
This platform was a powerhouse in its heyday. It was introduced as a sport rifle perfect for small game.
There was one article I read where the .25 boasted 6x the kill zone compared to a .177 pellet. Back then few airguns available could put at .25 out at any distance until the Kodiak arrived.
Value...600 is a bit steep. I payed 400 each for my 2. I think 500 is all the money for one.
Btw...Houston...that's a very nice example!!

Well I didn't get the Patriot in the end. The shop that had it on Consignment put up for auction and I was outbid. With shipping and tax it went for $800 and I let it go. I guess I didn't want it enough.
I get it. In the past when I seen them at gun shows they were trading for around 350 to 450 for a pristine model. Now at auctions they are commanding more $$ and when tax, shipping and possible creditcard fees they are just not a good value for a guy that just wants to shoot IMO. Wish I would have picked one up then.

I have a Webley Patriot but I have been told it is a Turkish made one and it is no good.
It does not have Quattro on it and does not say it is made in Turkey.
Can anyone tell me more about it and if it is made in Turkey, what do people think about them?
My understanding of the Turkish Patriots is that Hatsan first produced them using Webley's leftover parts and then later with their own. I owned a Beeman Kodiak back in the day and it was a beautiful rifle with some of the best bluing I have ever seen, but the trigger was long and heavy, accuracy was mediocre at best and it never produced the 30 fpe that they claimed. 25 fpe was closer to reality.

I've got a Hatsan 135 now and while it's nowhere near as pretty as the Kodiak was, it's more accurate, more powerful and has a better trigger. And adjusted for inflation it's about a third the price.
