FYI: The Weihrauch HW57 is now in stock in both 177 and 22 caliber at Krale.
Ooooooh. I'm so tempted. What caliber is yours? For what its worth, I really like mine. Not sure if they fixed the alignment issues with the breech port and barrel or if I just got lucky but it shoots really well.
Mine is a .177 tuned with a HW50S Vortek kitOoooooh. I'm so tempted. What caliber is yours?
Thanks. That's the same as my 50. I always liked the looks and concept of the gun. Yet my 50 will do everything the 57 might. Ughhh, I'm torn.
Thanks you probably saved 500 dollarsThe 50 is a better, more usable gun. The 57 is a cooler gun. I definitely don't regret having both but I do find myself shooting my 50s more.
Not only is it jointed it actually presses slightly against the tube body to push the breech upwards. Come to think of it and I did have to put some effort into making it stop digging into the tube. Its smooth as butter now though. Next time I have the stock off I'll snap pictures for you.Reading the specs for the 57 it could easily be called the under lever brother to the 50. Almost exactly the same length and weight (the 57 weighing 3.5 ounces more) makes me ask this to a 57 owner. Is the lever made of steel or aluminum? Also, isn’t the receiver going to eventually get a big ugly spot where the thumb loads and pushes closed the trap? I can see advantages from the 97 in the safety department as I have never been compfortable loading the 97 without holding the cocking lever back. Also over the 50 as being a fixed barrel. Almost the exact same velocity specs as the 50 to. Does the 57 have the jointed cocking lever as the 50?
If I remember correctly (and this is going back probably a year and a half) its rolled similar to the 50S and has a little bearing that the arm is supposed to glide on across the tube. Dont hold me to that though. Is the cocking lever made of solid steel like the 97? I’m trying to understand how it weighs in like the 50?
